Early on - when I got the car - I had a regular key made because I had an alarm system installed. Did not use the switchblades because I used the alarm remote. These two keys were my "backup" keys. From what I recall, programming the key I used for the everyday use of the car - took something like a minute or so. I needed these two keys to program the third one.
