I've only owned this car about a year and a half, but I unfortunately need to part with it. My girlfriend and I will be quitting our jobs and traveling across the country for potentially two years. We need something a little more practical - we'll probably get an SUV or something. I have put a lot of work into this car and I still have all of the receipts. Within the first few months of buying it (privately), I replaced the transmission (including clutch and flywheel) and the engine. Transmission was a reman; clutch, flywheel, and engine were new. This is a 2003 Mazda Protege5 in Laser Blue, it is completely stock, 152k miles, AUTOMATIC. Factory Sub in trunk Lots of new parts under the hood, but electric radiator fan went out and now the car consumes coolant slowly. #2 sparkplug shows it has been burning some coolant. Thinking it is head gasket time. Great deal for someone who wants to put their drivetrain into a rust free CA car. Fix the headgasket, Or perhaps even just pour in some stop leak and drive?
