.....what do I need to tell the installer to make sure I don't get the clunking sound?

After sitting and staring at the box for over three months, I'm finally getting them put in. What other than the clunk do I need to be concerned about?

Thanks a lot for the help everyone.

you will most likely get the clunk, i have had 5 different sets of springs on my p5 and always have the clunk. it has to do with the endlinks and the strain they are put under after lowering. just get the shop to be careful when loosing the sway bar end link bolts, and then tighten them good when they are done. it really isn't that bad as people make it out to be, after awhile it just blends in with all the other squeeking and rattling noises. spring install is pretty darn simple on these cars, so any reputable shop should have no probs at all. just those darn end links. good luck(2thumbs)

Springs are in.

In and out in 4 hours.

$200 out the door with an alignment.

Looks great.....feels great!

Feels a little more bumpier than stock, but barely noticable and definitely worth it.

I'll take pics and post them when my new computer gets here next week.

Oh, and lastly....NO CLUNK! So far. :)

Ya, my H&R springs don't have a clunk. I don't know what this clunk is. Wait till the springs settle and it'll be a bit more forgiving and your car will sit lower.

what clunk are u talkin about ...i dont have a clunk....i have the s-tech springs for about 4 months now

same here. ive had them for about 2-3 months, and i've yet to hear any clunk.

A lot of people were saying that they got a clunking sound coming from the rear of the car once their springs were installed.

some people have had a problem with the threading on the stock strut to be too little, and so it wont tighten down and it will clunk.

but if you dont have the problem then all is well, though sometimes it takes a while for it to develop.

soo.

sooo... should we get new struts as well if we are getting these "TEIN SPRINGS" installed? or is it not nessessary??
