Considering new radiator.

Well the results are in. This radiator the ******* s***! Peep this out here:

Well, just know that at the same temperatures with the AWR Radiator, the temps were from 167-176 while cruising at the same speeds! That's like 20 degrees cooler!
Sweet!!!

That'll mean some good things with the oil cooler too...

i wish i had my gauge in.

PS - I attempted the test fit with my radiator cap, need the Calsonic one for sure.

Good News!

I don't have a temp gauge in my car or a PDA dyno to measure it but, it sounds like this is gonna make a huge difference for me, especially with the tiny MSP radiator.

Yeah, I think you are talking about the FM Protege (BEGI) intercooler. The FM protege IC mounts in front of the radiator and goes vertical instead of the FMIC that the other kits offer in the lower front grill.

Yeah, the reason you even see it there is because I had to cut my grille to get it to fit. The IC was one of the prototype IC's, so the fit left something to be desired. This weekend I saw the proper IC at Hi=Perf's house. It was slimmer, and more compact, but the core size was the same. It was on 1st MP3 in NH's car.

It was mostly a price issue for me. And I read and heard a lot of good things about the AWR radiators. PWR if I remember right runs in the $550 range, but I was able to get the AWR for $450 shipped, as part of a motor mount group buy that Mitch at Protege5online was doing.

Damn, I got mine for $467 shipped! Still a good deal!

Let us know how your install goes!

good to hear everything worked out for you, actually i think my ic is the same as yours, my turbo kit is still a BEGI kit.

if i did decide on keeping the turbo kit (which i cant because of $$$ problems), the charge piping would have been a bit different, allowing me to maybe change the mounting location of the intercooler for optimal position.

damn those kits must have really been slapped together, you getting a garett and 1st Mp3 in NH getting the turbonetics

and different ICs...

anyway quick question...i noticed you replaced the K&N filter (or maybe ours were different too) anyhoot, can you just swap for a cone filter or does it have to be the box shape for any special reason?
