Sub box rattle!!

I just finished droping my sub into my custom box and I gave it a trial run. It sounds good except for the damn terminal cup (see picture) rattles like a mofo!! The thing is I sealed it really well with caulk inside the box and out and still the vibration.

Should I try to seal it better from inside (i.e. more caulk) or just remove it and have a crappy sounding box with a hole in the back???

Anyone have any good ideas on what to do here. I'd hate to scrap the thing, it took me forever....:(

Thanks

try sealing it better. I woudl not leave a hole. not good for sound unless you design a port. you could try using some weather striping. and you could seal it up better. maybe use larger screws.

if you don twant to use a terminal cup anymore then you could jsut replace the one piece that has the hole in it for the terminal cup. don tscrap the whole box.

I have never had good luck with terminals like those...either they rattle or they leak air. I usually just drill a hole the size of the wire, pull the wire through, then silicon the crap out of it.

me 2.. but some people liek the terminals. I dont every move my sub so I jsut pull it through the box..

Thanks guy's, I'll try to silicone the crap out of it even more then I already have. I used the cup b/c I wanted the flexibility of moving it in and out of my car.

I have some eDead layin around do you think that would help???

remove the terminal cup, and all the silicone caulking. put some weather stripping around the opening, then screw the terminal cup back down. if you want to seal it up from the inside as well, use liquid nails, not silicone caulk. silicone doesn't stick well enough, and isn't rigid enough once dry. liquid nails works much better.
