Chances of finding a 2025 CX-5 Turbo in the next few months?

:
2016 CX-5 Touring AWD
2019 CX-5 Reserve AWD
Will probably give my 2016 Touring to a family member in the next few months. She's in college and will need a vehicle to get to hospitals, clinics, nursing homes for clinicals.

I'm not interested in the 2026's. Would prefer a 2025 Turbo. Don't want the CD, I-Stop or gigantic screen with no control knobs.

Nationwide there are models still left but local in your market I think chances may be lower and lower every day. My local southwest market has 5 new and no turbo left. Other markets have some.

Mazda has big incentive to clear on 2025 and dealers discount them a lot. 2k rebate and 750 loyalty plus whatever dealer discounts (1-3k)

would prob look sooner. There will be CPO though which may be option. Extended warranty, etc.

Don't really want a CPO 2025. It would probably be a test driver, loaner or sales person take home car.

May have to look at other manufacturers.

I hate giving up the 16 (zero problems, less than 50k miles).

The longer you wait the fewer there will be. Especially if color choice is important. I say find one now and get the best deal you can.

I also didn’t want to be left out on a '25 turbo CX-5, so I bought mine a little over 7 months ago. I don’t know that there’s anything else out there in that price range that would interest me, except maybe a turbo CX-50. I say get started looking tomorrow.

After much searching finally found a new 2025 CX-5 Select to replace the 2016 Touring that I'm giving to a family member.

It's Machine Gray Metallic and it has the "L" in the 8th position of the VIN.
So the MSRP $32,890, Dealer savings $909 bringing it to $31,981. $2000 off for paying cash, $500 Mazda appreciation, bringing it down to $29,481.

Would $28,500 be a reasonable offer?

Did you give up on the Turbo? Because the Turbo equipped models don't have iStop or CD.

But with the car you're considering now, you can do better. I negotiated a $2800 dealer discount on my 2025 Select at the end of December. Don't let the dealer hold the $2000 and $500 Mazda incentives over your head as discounts the dealer is providing. Those Mazda incentives are from Mazda and not the dealer; therefore should not enter into the equation with the discount you're negotiating.

I wanted something comparable to the 16 Touring I'm giving up.
Already have one turbo so really didn't want to spend the extra money on another turbo. This Select doesn't have CD or I-Stop so I'm good. Only thing that's a bummer is it doesn't have Bose. I can live with that though.

Thanks for the info on the incentives. I'm sure they want to get rid of it since most people want a 2026 model. I'll start low.

I'm not sure if having no trade and paying cash is an advantage or disadvantage.

Depends on the state, but in some states wrapping a trade into the new car purchase can provide sales tax savings. Regardless, always negotiate the out the door price of the car first. Then you bring up the trade and work out the best price the dealer will give you. It will be wise for you to get some quotes from various car buying companies such as CarMax, Carvana, etc. I sold a car through a company called We Buy Any Car and got the highest payout through them.

Cash is actually detrimental to the dealer as they won't get any financial kick backs if you finance the car through them. You can always see what they can get financing wise with the lenders they work with and make sure there is no prepayment penalty. You can use going through their financing if they meet your price as a negotiating tactic. Then after the loan is established, just pay off the car.

I'm not trading. I'm just buying.
Although it might be advantageous to finance if it gets some money off and the loan has no prepayment penalty. My understanding from the sales guy on the phone was the $2000 was if you pay cash or finance through one of their banks. I'll have to look into it when I go to check out the car.

The transfer tax in my state is 5.25% They just raised it from 4.25%.

The $2000 or low interest financing is through Mazda. The dealer can work with other lenders. That's what I did. I got the $2000 cash and used one of the dealer's financing options. The rate the dealer got was actually pretty reasonable and low. But I have every intentions of paying off the loan in a year or less.

Here in So Cal, there's a few dealerships that have a few Turbo CX-5 models left but they are slowly being sold off.

Turning out the dealers have a few 2025 selects left but they're all CD I-Stop.
Very few turbo's left and they're all in the 40,000.00 range.
Might have to settle for a base model to get around CD/I-Stop.

You need to double check what you think are Select trims. The base and Select trims do not have iStop/CD. I have a Select trim and it does not have either.

The base does not but alot of the Select do. Here's the title for select trim at multiple dealers I checked

CX-5 2.5 S Select AWD

One dealer had 3 2025 selects 2 had CD/I-Stop one didn't. Unfortunately the one without "L" in 8th pos of VIN was the same color as my 19. Would of been weird having two identical cars. Had to pass on that one although I would of liked to get it.

If you linked to something, it's not coming up for me. But I'm 100% sure all 2025 Select models do not have iStop/CD.

I ran a search on Visor with my search criteria being 2025 CX-5 S Select New. There were 502 hits. I randomly clicked on the listings and every one of them had an L engine code. Here's the link to the search I did:

I would point you to Mazda's website where there was a clear indication that the base and Select had no iStop/CD in the specs. But Mazda has taken down the 2025 information.

I see what you're saying. Google says they don't have CD. I'll have to check again.

You should probably not wait, they won’t last much longer. When I heard the specs for the 2026, I decided to get the turbo 2025. That was the end of March. I got my local dealers last turbo premium with a discount of $6,107. Good luck in your search.
