Rear hatch door squeak/chirp noise (2015 CX-5)

My ‘15 CX-5 has a chirp/squeaking sound from the rear hatch door. Would it be the plastic moldings rubbing on the rear windshield? I’ve heard the clips can break and cause this noise?
Any fix I can do without going to a dealer?

Thanks

There is a plastic plug on the hatch up near the hinge area. If you pry it out you might see the issue with the attachment of the hatch to the body.
It's fairly easy to pry the plastic interior body from the hatch, I think there are just a couple of screws. One might be in the light fixture and look along the bottom edge of the hatch for fasteners that hold the plastic to the metal hatch.

Check the spoiler fixing bolts. On my 2016 I had the same issue. Eventually realised the rear spoiler seems to rattle when I slam the hatch shut, then taking it with hands and wiggling it side-to-side I hear the squeak!

Inside the hatch there’s a plug on either corner that gets you to two of these screws. One of mine were loose and the other the nuts was gone. Completely rattled off and now probably somewhere inside my rear tailgate… I tightened them up with M5 locknuts and the rubber washer from a M5 self tapping roofing bolt (just in case the sink locknuts react to the alloy of the hatch). There’s three more screws holding the spoiler that you can check if you remove the top centre plastic cover, but these were not the cause of the rattle on mine.
