2018 CX-5 Door handle issue...Help

So I locked the keyfob in the car .. (I guess the battery was low , sitting in cupholder?) well went and got the slimjim thinking I could get it open ..no luck called pop a lock ..
anyways now the driver side door wont open using the handle from outside .. I can open with inside handle ..has anyone taken the door panel off to fix handle issues ? not sure where to start

You'll probably have toremove the interior door panel. It might be something simple.
Have you ever removed the door panels (for new speakers, etc)?

When you ask something like this, you need to provide details on year (and possibly trim)

Your absolutely correct ..its a 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring

Here's the manual section for removing the door panel. You can then check if (likely) something is disconnected from the handle.
