?s about the install and the kit itself

Is this MP3 going to use a MPI tuner? I would like to run 6psi reliably and the advanced timing of the MP3 worries me. Do you have the newer MPI tuners in that aid in putting the ECU into open-loop for better fuel tuning?

Obviously Wisconsin is pretty far from you. Will you be able to come up with reasonable basemaps for requirements like mine? (6psi, intercooled, MP3 ECU).

I like what I've seen so far. I hope everything goes well.

I have an auto in my p5 so I know that I can't run that much boost, but my question is. Do you have a 4psi kit and how much would I be looking at for the kit? I also would like an intercooler but how would removing the poweresteering coolant loop effect my steering when I do alot of hard cornering? Is there a way to run your intercoolers with out removing the loop? Thanks

I think you can keep the powersteering loop if you want to. You just need to make room for it. If you're creative you can make it work. I don't have this kit, but on my Spool, I notched the metal a little bit higher on that side so I could run the cooling loop above the intercooler piping (The hose will flex and allow you to re-bolt it up higher). Just a thought, although I doubt the power steering cooling loop does much anyway.

bevis, the wagner IC sits about 3/8" away from the radiator and it is very tall... the only way i see being able to keep the loop, is to put it in front of the IC... but that would look gay..

i have experience no steering problems what so ever... and i corner hard all the time..

If you really wanted to keep it you could probally put it in front of the IC of buy a Oil cooler type radiator and mount it on top of the IC.

andy, i'm considering going turbo, but i keep hearing all these horror stories with owners blowing motors. i just wanna run 5-7 psi and won't be doing any racing. just looking for the extra "punch" mazda forgot to add to the car. is this a driver/owner issue or am i asking for trouble? also, whens the open house?? looking forward to checkin the place out. thanks!

With this fuel system nothing is done with timing

You can run lower boost with my kit. And a nonintercooled kit will be out in 2 weeks.

The loop does not do much in the way of cooling. We have the same kit on joels car, which he road races it with no problems.

This kit is great for the everyday car. The waste gate is dumped back into the exhaust and it has a replacment cat. Now all my manifolds will have the egr tube bung on them.

is the nonintercooled kit upgradable to the intercooled version without major hassle? I was gonna get the kit this winter till thieves decided to go to town on my car....

Yes it is.

That sucks!!! I just have a customers car broken into a few weeks ago.

I'm still saving my cash for the kit, this new one will make life so much easier, you rock

I wanna know how well its gonna run with those cams, i have the same cams and i emailed andy the other day about it. He was quick in response. I am stuck between him and hiboost. I just want a dead reliable kit. The hiboost seems too high maintenance for me. I dont like the fact that you have to adjust the fuel maps every damn time you do something to your car. Like one guy made an exhaust change, he had to remap, and anything like that. Hiboost told me to take my cams out. I would still have the mazdaspeed exhaust that is different from the stock car their kit is tuned on. ENOUGH OF MY RAMBLE MORE PICS OF YOUR B-E-A-UTIFUL kit Andy.

Hey MikeBluep5, I called SR motorsports about those cams that I purchased a year ago, they said they would work fine in a Turbo application, the spec's were not that much of a difference off the origial cams in my Mp3. Sr motor sports claimed 20hp on them, but I would say 5-7hp at best. As for reliability, that was my main concern and Andy' s kit seemed to fit the bill. I wasn't looking for the enormous power, just the extra kick for just when I feel like it. Good luck with your decision. I will be p/u my car this saturday, so I can tell it how it feels.

I just don't understand removing the steering cooler..I mean..why would mazda put it in..if it was not needed?

For it's size, it really isn't that efficient at all. It is in the way of where the intercooler would go. I accually left mine there. I just pulled it in front of the IC. There it sits.

Me too, I used some back strapping to make a loop around it and then drilled a screw into the bumper to hold the loop off the intercooler.
