Hello everyone!

I was wondering if someone could help me figure something out. I called my parts supplier who said that there were two different kinds of break pad clips for my model (06 Mazda5). He said one was a 3-clip version and the other wasnt. If have included some pics if someone can look and tell me what I have it'd be a huge help. Also, in your opinion do I need new discs?

When I changed the breaks on my old jetta I didnt use a special tool to reset the calipers. I have been told that it is a huge help in doing mazda breaks. I've found three different ones from princess auto, but I dont know the proper size I'd need. Does anyone know the proper size I'd need?

Wow I'm needy. I can assure you though I'll appreciate your help.

Will

I just rented one from O'Reilly/AutoZone when I did mine

When I did my fronts, I got Centric replacement pads from Rock Auto. The fronts had 3 clips that went into the caliper. Rock Auto sent me the wrong rears (either wrong box or wrong PN on website) but I have plenty of life left in them, having JUST hit 70K this month, so I didn't do them.
Anyway, you can just squeeze the fronts back into place, but the rears need to be rotated and squeezed, hence the brake tool rental listed above.

Be adventurous and dig around the older threads and you'll find answers.

You need a dial caliper to measure the thickness of the rotors before anyone can say if they need to be replaced, or not... I would suggest getting them resurfaced or better yet replaced. Hopefully that rotor has been replaced before. From the looks of the rust (edge rust leads me to believe they have not been changed), be prepared for a hellofa job in knocking that disc off! Sledge hammer, bigger the better, hit front facing, go to town.

shop here: www.rockauto.com. if you don't know which item to get, just know that you get what you pay for or look for items with the heart (favorite/popular item) logo as guide.
