Mine is making a claddering sound in the front like the springs are rubbing together, and no it is not the sway bar, it is the springs. It is getting annoying. There has to be something we can do about it?
I took mine back to the shop i got them from and they called Ground Control and GC said that maybe try to glue a piece of rubber to the aluminum top hat. Some of the kits they sell include this rubber, but not all. They are going to put this on today and I will let you know if it works.
Thanks for the info. I got my car back and the clunking from the rear was NOT the GC's. By it being lowered, it brings the trailing arm closer to the exhaust and when I hit a bump, it sends that arm up higher and thus, hitting the pipe.
I guess maybe since I had a pipe made for me and the bend is not quite right, that's why some other people don't have this problem. So now it's time to have a complete Mandrel bent system made for me.
This is working for me so far, I evenly put silicone on the top of my spring. Also spread it evenly on the metal thing that sits on the top of the springs. After you are finished doing that pull the metal thing down on top of your spring, that should fix it. Hopefully.(drinks)
the rubber is on the top hat and I took off my exhaust to see if I still heard the sound and I ddin't. So it looks like the exhaust is one of my problems and I'm not sure if the rubber thing helped or not, but there is no clunking on any bumps until I put my exhaust back on.
I don't know which kit is the best, but I have Ground Controls adjustable coilover's and they are great. It made my car handle better than it already did. I got mine from a local shop, but you can go to this site, http://www.mazdaformance.com/protege.htm ,and you can get them from there for $375.
