Manual TX Fluid?

I'm due to change the fluid in my Protege5 gear box (5spd). I would like something that is good for those cold winter mornings while improving shifting. Do any of you just use motor oil (like older Honda's), or is gear oil better for Mazda's? What do you guys recommend for Manual TX fluid? The car has 130k km on her.

So what did you go with in the end? I went with MotoMaster brand synthetic 75w90, shifting is quite smooth.
