new mazda 626 owner!

hey everyone
ive just bought a 1998 626 gxi 2.0 and this is my 1st mazda! Previous i was a proud owner of a rare ruby red saab 9000 2.0 turbo which was fully stage 1 tuned but here in the uk the petrol prices are ridiculous so it had to go! My 626 is atlantic white i believe and it has an induction kit fitted (poorly) which im guna put back to standard with a k&n panel filter and drill the airbox and hopefully get a s/s exhaust but what id really like to know is what mazda alloys would fit mine (its a 5 stud) as i hoping that maybe the mazda6 would fit or the rx-8 one's aswell! Yes, both of those wheels will fit, and most wheels from other cars will fit, too. Our lug spacing is 5x114.3mm, which is the most common spacing as far as I know. Just watch the offset of the wheels. The Mazda6 rims are a +60mm offset, which means that they're going to sit really far under the fender. It's up to you, but most people think that looks bad. I had to use spacers to bring mine further out.

These are the RX8 wheels on a 626. IMO, they are a bit too big. They will probably seem even bigger in person since they're 18's. Keep in mind that he is lowered a lot, too, so yours won't look exactly like this.

mine is a manual which is more common here in the uk! I do like the look of rx-8 wheels but doesnt do the brake discs credit as they look tiny lol but a small sacrafice to have for what id like lol! Id have to be careful how much theyd throw the speedo out as we have speed cameras everywhere here =(
i will try to post some pictures up here of mine on monday so ya'll can take a look! Is there any decent chips or remaps out there for these? Mine aintt too slow as we have a footbridge over a dual carriage way (motorway) and its almost exactly a quater mile from the roundabout and i can get 109mph from 2nd gear off the roundabout (we call it the bridge run) so i thought that was not to bad! Mine also has a nice boot spoiler but i'll defo get some pics up so you can see and judge for yourselfs lol!

Cool. The manual is much better than the auto. Unfortunately the auto was provided by Ford and had all kinds of reliability problems. Some owners didn't even have it last 80k miles...

An option for the brakes is to upgrade to the Mazda 6 rotors and calipers. They're pretty much a direct swap.

just wondering what people thought of my 626 as i think it differs slighty from the US spec! Im still on the prowl for a decent chip or remap but by what i read there will be a minimum gain for my pounds so i might scrap that idea lol! Oh and my battery light came on last week but the battery hasnt drained at all and the alternator is still charging the battery (both tested with a voltmeter) so god knows why that light is on lol!
