well yea, paint chipping is inevitable but hopefully it holds up well through average abuse. (thumb)

Pro tip for painting that sort of thing. Lighly scuff the surface with some sand paper. Paint bonds to a rough surface much better then a smooth one. Primer always helps too. Also once it is dried get some krylon clear coat. You can get it in a matte finish. Helps prevent uv damage and is a protective coat/sealer for whatever you put it over.
