Banana5

Hello;
I am new here, I was watching this forum for a long time. My family just traded in with the new Protege5, I am wondering if there is a suitable deflectors for Protege5. The sales that I met yesterday told me that it is the same as 2002 protege, is that right?

hey banana........U in richmond vancouver ?? If so, I am too.
Anyway....to answer you question........I think the deflectors are the same as the sedan ones.
But last time when I asked the guy at the mazda dealer, he said it fits a little different. I have them on my P5 now.......Works great.....

White Zoom Zoom;
Yes, I live in Richmond. I also bought a sedan deflector, the sales told me to try, otherwise I can bring that back to refund, I don't want to cut off the package, so I want to ask first. So yours is for protege sedan?

Hey banana....nice to meet you....anyway.......Mine is for protege 5......it says it on the packaging when I got it.........
They only had one when I bought it and the service rep. told me these are hard to get.

Are you guys talking about the moonroof deflector? It's only $40 US. My car came with one when I bought it, even though I didn't want it. I took it off!

the door one?????
you serious??? under 100 buck???
but what is the use of it??
is it hard to clean??
and i bet it's hard to clean the window if you use a cloth to clean it..cause your hand will be stuck and you can't clean the part where the thingy covered??
if it's 100 buck and very useful..i'll get it
by the way..i'm from toronto

yeah.......the door ones.........I went to Lorco and they had the Sedan one for 97$. So I bought it from the dealer for P5's.
It was suppose to be 108$ but I bargain with the service rep since I got the car there like 2 days ago. haha.
Anyway.....there isn't much cleaning since nothing goes in there coz it covered. The only thing that goes in is water when you wash your car. There is a lot of space in there to reach to clean it.

They are very useful for me since I live in Vancouver which rains a lot.
I got two pictures with them on. Dont know if you can notice it due to the bad quality.

i just wonder how do they attach it to the car??
use glue or just clip on or what?
can you take them out by yourself?

the deflectors already has these sticky tape on it. All I have to do it peel it and tape it on the car. Whole intallation took me 4 mins.........

your welcome Humvee....
Nope........I dont hear any differences. But maybe its because my car has never been on a highway. I just use the car to commute around the city. =)

WHite zoom zoom, just to wonder what dealer you bought the deflectors from? What is the location.

just wonder...can they install the deflector for you???
and according to you say..just stick it on the car..i think it's little bit dangers...cause if you don't clean the car well..it might fall down and it won't be as nice as the professional do it for you..and if you wanna detach it..the paint will fall off....i thought that deflector thingy is clip it on the car...oh well..if it's just stick it to the car..i'm not going to get it then..=P

oo..well...you get it profressionally done. Buts its gonna cost ya. thats what my dealer said.
but anyway....dont worry.......In the package it includes these alcohol wipes for all four side. You wipe it first to make it clean.
And the place where you stick the deflector, its not on the paint.
Its on top of the door. The black paint. Check out your car. you'll know what I am talking about.
It sticks no where near the paint..........

If you dont want the stick on ones. buy the ones that goes into the window....like the volkswagon ones......go to this site.
