Just got a Dynocom DC1800SZ 2wd mobile (as in, on a trailer) dyno, and I figured I'd see if anyone is familiar with the best strapping spots on the mazdaspeed3. I had my Eclipse on it yesterday and it took a while to decide on the best strapping locations. A minor software issue kept freezing the computer, so I didn't get a graph or any data from any of the runs. I fixed it now (tested the dyno spinning the roller with my feet, found out I had to reinstall the software...) so I'm planning on running my eclipse and MS3 tomorrow night. (dance)

You will soon be the most requested guy to come to Mazda events...

I don't want to talk about it too much yet, I have to apply for AV status on the forums before I can talk about any business... I don't want my account locked or anything.

I will say I'm in east central PA. After I get my AV status set up I'll post more about it. I'll be having local meets and dyno days here, along with taking the dyno to shows/meets. I also plan on doing alot more than just power runs on it, but I'll post more on that later.

sounds interesting. bring it to pittsburgh, and I'll be there

0.1 hp and 0.2 ft-Lbs at 20,000 RPM according to the dyno.

I ran my speed3 on it last night again and everything was working great. I posted the chart below. I did 2 runs, I reset the ECU right before the second run. Gained about 10hp/10ft-lbs from the ECU reset. Too bad 5 miles of street driving causes it to go back to where it was before..... street load is different then dyno load. Some of the power loss is from TMIC heat soak on the street causing more detonation and the car adjusting the timing to prevent it. You can see the gain in low end torque after the ECU reset. Timing retard is what really kills that. I had a 1/2HP 2000CFM fan directly blowing into the IC on the dyno, so the IC never got a change to heat soak. That's why a FMIC is near the top of my list for this car.

Thanks, I'm anxious to have someone come in who has run on another dyno recently so I can compare the numbers to what other dyno's are reading. I'm trying to fix the transmission in my Galant so I can run that to see what it puts down... it's still stock, so I'm only expecting 160WHP.
