completed my first mod!! (LED's), how pathetically awesome!
I am a very non-mechanically inclined person, but having an ms3, I am trying to learn. so with the how-to guide printed out and in-hand, I installed 'cool white' LED's in the dome lighting, map lighting, glove compartment, trunk, and license plate.
I really felt like I was 'modding' my car on the glove compartment, since that required popping out the mazdaspeed insert, unscrewing stuff, actually taking apart pieces of the car and putting it back together. well, at least it's a start!
I have to admit even this simple task proved to be challenging though. for some reason the how-to guide references (for the glove compartment) popping out the mazdaspeed kickplate. I didn't understand what that had to do w/ the glove box, but I was like OK, I must try. so I tried but there was no way to pop it out... it is seriously superglued on there like crazy. so then I started prying at it with a screwdriver,,. maybe not the smartest thing because I somehow ended up seriously cutting two fingers,, LOL. they were pretty deep cuts too, from the sharp side of the kickplate or something....... and on top of that, I scratched up a small section of the kickplate. well that is the only way to learn, right? heheh. but then I came to my senses and realized the kickplate has nothing at all to do w/ the glovebox, and so I proceeded onward with no problem. I posted a similar comment in the how-to section because I have no idea why the kickplate is referenced in the glove box section.
