Lowering the car makes a birg difference. The area of issue isn't the front either, it's the rear.I had 16x7 38offset 205 45 16 no rub
Actually, another 2 mm on my wheels and my rears would be rubbing no doubt (17x7 +45 with 215/40 series tires on a Protege5, here). There must be something with the Lynx's then because that definitely wouldn't fly on a Protege. Especially with a drop and 215/45 series tires! My experience sir, Is with 17x7 offset 40... What's another 2mm...
I don't rub at all and I haven't had to roll my fenders, I'm even running a 215-45 tire in the back...!

Either your shocks are blown or Maybe you have alot of stuff in the trunk weighing it down...
You can tell in my picture that the rear is a 215-45 and the fronts are 205-40... I dont rub in the inside and I drive the car everyday in Manila where its pot hole heaven...
In terms of drivetrain and suspension, yes, but not in body panels. The rear and front quarter panels are completely different and could possibly allow more room for lower offsets. That's all I was getting at...Sir, You Should Know That The Protege and Lynx Are Practically The Same Car In Terms Of Suspension And Drivetrain...
Word, same here on my P5. I actually rubbed on the inner fender liner in the rear though. The offset was actually too high.Werid I rub with a drop on stock racing hart wheels with 215/45/17 tires.... i have rub marks in my sidewall to prove it to! lol
Bingo! That would allow a lower offset wheel beings that the body panels are different. In terms of drivetrain and suspension, yes, but not in body panels. The rear and front quarter panels are completely different and could possibly allow more room for lower offsets. That's all I was getting at...
