Intake Mani gasket to keep it cold?

We all know how hot our Intake Manifolds gets.

Ive seen those gaskets made for the honda civics. They keep the heat on the engine, the gasket is made of some kind of material that does not conduct heat to the intake mani and also sucks the heat already on the mani.

You can even keep your hand on the manifold and not get burned.

Anyone know about this?

I sent them an email....dont know hows the warranty on customer satisfaction.
Those dyno graphs does not look real at all.

anyone has tested it before?

They have been used by the Probe/626/Mx-6 guys for years (5 years at least).

I have install them on my buddies KL-ZE motor...and BOTTOM LINE...is they WORK.

I trust their products and the DYNOs.

They have been used by the Probe/626/Mx-6 guys for years (5 years at least).

I have install them on my buddies KL-ZE motor...and BOTTOM LINE...is they WORK.

I've had these installed for about 6 months now, great mod..reduce heat soak quite a bit, temp gauge never got much over 1/4 all summer, even on the hot days, intake mani is much cooler to the touch. Sean at Outlaw is a good guy, willing to do small Group Buys if you get some more people interested.

Well this has basically been answered already but. . .I've got a set of these (but not installed. . .man I used to laugh at people who listed parts "sitting in my garage", because I couldn't figure out why they didn't have them installed yet. . .now I think I have one of the biggest collections of Protege stuff in my garage. . .that are not on my car).

Anyway, the spacers look good, simple idea, makes sense. Don't know about the dyno stuff. If in fact you compare a cold IM with a hot one, probably, but you won't add any horsepower with them, just maintain what you have as the engine gets hot.

Oh well $105 shipped to my door. Ordered them Friday, got them Monday.

Yeah I do notice the loose on performance when engine is hot.

Anyway, if its sitting there, send it to a better home....to me!

Does the instructions says something about reusing the stock gasket? or is it a complete replacement?

Well, technically you would need two gaskets (one on each side of the spacer). However it has been recommended that you simply use a thin layer of sealant (RTV0 instead). So, you could actually skip the metal OEM gaskets.

The spacers aren't that expensive. . .but a group buy would be cool for those that don't have this.

Heck if you're taking your IM off, get it ported and polished. . .fun, fun.
