'08.5 MS3 TPMS in RX-8 wheels?

Looking to purchase a set of OEM RX-8 wheels. Was wondering if MS3 TP sensors work in RX-8 wheels, or do I need to also purchase RX-8 sensors and program them for my car? I don't want to roll with the dash light or any beeping.

I have them on mine and they came with the sensors from the RX8 and work great.

Thanks, fellas, but that's not my question. I'm asking if the MS3 sensors will work in the RX-8 wheels. I already know I can get RX-8 sensors to work.

Great. My car only has 600 miles on it, was thinking of putting the stock 215/45/18s and TPMS on 18x8 RX-8 wheels. I know that's stretching it a bit, but I should be alright for street use, agreed?

I would not recommend that... That is way too narrow for an 8" wheel!!!!!
Minimum on a 8.0" wheel should be 235/40 or 225/45!!!

I am looking at it from a temporary, economical standpoint. After the Bridgestones are toast, I'll put 235/40/18s on them. But I figured since I want to swap the TPMS from my wheels to the RX-8 wheels, I'll swap the rubber, too. The treadware rating is pretty low, shouldn't be on this combo for long.

Your choice... But I wouldn't recommend it... I'd just ride on the stock rims/wheels until they are done for safety's sake...

The OEM 215-45-18 tires will work fine on the 18x8 wheel. There just is not much protection for the rim against curb rash. I and many many other members are running the OEM tire. We all are doing the same thing, waiting to wear the OEM tires out to go wider.

I hear ya, and appreciate the warning. The problem is this is my weekend car, and I don't race it. Figure maybe 6,000 miles a year... I'm not willing to wait ~3 years to swap wheels. :)

Good to hear. I rarely parallel park this car, and even when I do I'm pretty good about not curbing.

If you check on Tirerack.com the recommended wheel sizes for the
Bridgestone Potenza RE-050A are 7"-8". So from the factory the tire was on the narrowest wheel recommended.
There is no reason that we should be worried using the widest recommended wheel. I don't understand the paranoia.

I have stok tires on 8" rims and they are working fine.....people are streching 195 on 9" wide rims and never heared that tire fall off

People drive without seat belts, drive with under-inflated tires, with bald corded tires, etc...etc...etc...

The point is it doesn't make it right and safe...

195mm tire on a 9" rim is utterly asinine... In addition to looking ghetto...
If you can't afford the correct sized tire for your rims, then don't buy rims.

Tires have specs for a reason.

Some people choose not to follow them...their choice.
