Well concerning the EPA numbers, it does say specifically that these reflect the '08 EPA numbers. Concerning the car itself, obv the 08 5AT w/08 EPA can't be directly compared with the 07 4AT w/07 EPA, but I assume the 5MT didn't change gear ratios and nothing with the engine changed AFAIK between 2007 and 2008.
2007 Mazda advertised mileage for the 5MT was 22/27
2008 Mazda advertised mileage for the 5MT is now 22/28 (so it went up... ?)
yeah, I understand the whole YMMV thing... my point was more directed at Mazda's false advertising, intentional or not. Really it's not a big deal, but just kind of surprised when I saw on Mazda's site MPG went up this year and 08 EPA numbers dropped across the board.
EDIT: Okay, nevermind. Apparently I need to brush up on my research skills. The FuelEconomy.gov screenshot from above is for an 07 5. The screen shot for below is for an 08 5, and yes it does actually match MazdaUSA.com.
What got me messed up is the "08 adjusted" number for the 2007 are 19/25/22, whereas the official numbers for the 2008 are 22/28/24. I give up, lol
