Just wanting some suggestions for cleaning up underneath the hood. I'm also on a bit of a budget at the moment, so any advice would be great. If anyone has any pictures that'd be very helpful too! Thanks!

*Note: This is a bit of a older picture, the only difference is there's no more ZEX solenoid, and I painted my VC red. I'll take another picture asap.

You're in the same boat I am - my engine bay is a rat's nest of wires, pipes and vacuum lines. Some good wire tucking and clean vacuum line routing will probably do wonders.

Engine cover would help a lot..hid a lot of those wires...Apexr1 diverter thing cleans things up, and the Corksport radiator cover as well...

Tucking wires and re-routing vacuum lines would be cheaper...just a LOT more work...

Where can I get those plastic covers that people use for their vacuum lines/hoses? Or at the least, what would you call them?

I may look into the engine/radiator cover. It kills me when I show people my turbo and it looks like a antique underneath. It needs to be spiced up.

I love the way this guys looks

you can get them at autoparts stores, but they will cost a little more than they should. you can also check ebay or you can got to a home depot or some place like that and get the black ones and paint them with engine paint. usually you can find them in the wire section. hope that helped

Personally I'd stay away from those plastic wire cover things - a little ricey to me. Some good silicone vacuum lines will always help but if you aren't patient you get a mess like mine. One of these days I'm going to go out there with a razor, some electric tape and some wire loom materials and completely redo everything. Probably once I get this next round of parts in :) My engine bay, BTW:

I picked up some vacuum lines and the plastic coverings (just as an experiment). I'll post up a picture at the end of the weekend

So how is the car running ? I used a vacuum block that cuts down on the number of T fittings. I have a set of pic posted on FI section.
