It is the Duplicolor Metalcast high heat paint. With the Primer and paint you will have $12 in it. I was going to powder coat it and actually bought a replacement valve cover to have that done (will be listed soon) but in my opinion looks just as nice and took only a couple hours.

Did not need to replace gasket.
I paid $45 for the one (bought from njaremka ) I have sprayed it with high heat black and will list it pretty soon for resale. How much do you think I could get for it painted it the red? (it has a gasket in it also that looks good)

I would like to have mine painted but just dont want to have the engine exposed while waiting for it to dry. I wouldn't need the coil packs though. Do you think that the paint that you used will hold up? I think it would match my AEM intake pretty well.

The coil packs are back on my car I just put them there when I took them off my car. I just coverd the valves with a couple of rags. It is probably pretty close. You could go by any autoparts store and look at it. You have to spray what ever part prior to painting with a silver metalic paint/primer so you will get the candy look. It is rated up to 500 degrees so it will be fine.

Looks good...what did you use to paint your fuse box as well?

The same duplicolor Metalcast. Just scuffed the box with a red scuff pad and did the same primer and metalcast spray.

Having airborne debris land in the exposed cylinder head really isn't a big deal. Unless it's in a really dirty environment, you'll be fine.

Looks good. I've considered painting mine as well.

The Metalcast says it is intended for valve covers and like items in the engine compartment so the 500 should be fine. They do make a high heat ceramic 1200 version for things line exhaust and headers that you have to bake in the oven for 2hours but the colors are not all that great.

oh em gee, dude. That looks good, but what i noticed almost simultaneously was how freaking clean your engine compartment is. Looks piiiiiimp, thumbs way up!

Looks good. I love that metal cast paint. I have done my calipers with the blue metal cast and my interior as well. I even went as far as painting my entire dash of my 1950 chevy truck with it. (All blue of course)
