Keeping the Si???

Then I won't talk about the Volk TE37s that come in 15x6. Doesn't really matter. This is most likely just going to go on the wish list for next year. I think this year might see new brake pads and some shocks. There's a guy on eBay with KYB AGX shocks for my car for $250 shipped.

Another area to look is on the local autox forum/list serve. Lots of people getting new stuff/offloading their used stuff this time of year, and usually much cheaper too.

LOL He's got the bug and haven't even started. "The AGXs are only 250. Those wheels are only 370. OHH! Someone's selling used tires for 150!" lol

BTW if you plan on the Si being a dedicated auto-x car, I'd recomend the HP+s. I've got them on the Miata, and they're amazing. However if brake noise bothers you, you should probably stick with HPSs.

If you want an autoX tire you can DD that is nearly as good as the Falkens I'd recommend either Kumho MXs or Hankook RS2s.

The Si is the dedicated autox car. As of this Saturday, I will have the MS6 down here for my DD. No more DD duty for the Si. It's probably a bit backwards for me to have a dedicated autox car before I've ever tried it, isn't it? I don't think I'm really concerned about NOT liking it, though. Pretty sure the bug is going to bite HARD.

you will be fine with your license, and you should start on street tires anyways to help your learning curve.

RT 215's are skreet tires what do you think is on my car right now. And boy do i love them. Was driving with starion roommate last night and came around a hard corner and the rear end slid very predictably and just popped right back in as the turn straightend out...my old es100's prolly woulda given me a repeat of the fire hydrant episode

cuse me tire goddess! sorry I am not down with all the tire codes! At any rate those Azenis aren't cheap, so thet aren't in my street tire category.

I paid $74/each for 205/50/15 Azenis.

For the new wheels on teh TypeR I paid $109/ea with free shipping.

I would not call them expensive at all compared to what else is on the market.

Yeah, I found the same size Azenis at Vulcan Tire for $72 + shipping.

LOL. So, finally, the Si is up for sale again. I'm selling it and putting that cash and the Avalanche down on a Subaru Forester 2.5XT, pending final word from the dealership on approval of the deal and the numbers they come back with.

Fun daily driver + utility + better gas mileage + lower payment = Win.

Drove it on Saturday, and it feels a lot like the MS6, but with room for more junk in the trunk. Maybe I'll autocross it next year. Should be interesting.

If anyone knows anyone who's interested, I'm asking $7500. Most of you are familiar with the car, but for those of you who aren't:
1999 Honda Civic Si, 118k miles, Electron Blue Pearl, bone stock since new except for Koni Sport struts, installed this spring. I bought it brand new back in 1999, so if you have any questions, I can answer them for you.

Did you get the sport?

you suck, but its better than the Avalanche. that's one of the vehicles I am considering for my next one. You really like being upside down don't you.

Yes, and it's killing me. That's the reason I've got to get rid of both cars now. If I'd just gotten the Forester in the first place I might have been able to avoid that.

For all the room you're going to get in a Forester, you should have just stuck with the MS6!

Couldn't be more wrong. Can't stick a couple dogs in the trunk of a 6.

Anyways, looks like it's not happening. I didn't get the financing special they had, so my payment would actually be higher than the Avalanche. No sense in selling the Civic to put a bunch of money down for a higher payment. It'd take a lot of gas to close that gap.

Probably still going to sell the Civic, but I'm not going to be in a hurry about it.
