Soaked Wet carpet on both Driver and passenger

Does anyone else have this problem. For the last year or so whenever I had to remove/install the unichip ot afc, I noticed that the floor is soaked. I can't seem to figure out why.

Now, after I picked up my car from the shop (installed thunder's new manifold) my car would have bouncy idle and low vac (-10) randomly during stops. I checked all the vacuum hoses and hardpipes.

My mechanic just called me and told me that my ECU was soaked and that could've caused the problem. So now it's sunbathing.

if it,s not raining then your AC may be doing this.. ever noticed that even though the AC button isisn't pressed, if you put the car on heater (floor) or vents for the winshield the AC compressor works at times...

my passenger floor was wet when in installed the afc. I assumed it's cause of
a broken windshield somehow (will be fixed soon)

Check your air vents. If it is set to bring air in from the outside into the cabin this could be your problem. Water can travel under the cowl into the vent system and into the cabin.

Happened to my brother in a Honda and my dad in his Pontiac. They switched the vent to recirculate the cabin air and haven't had a problem since.

If that isn't the problem, search for a thread from member FBI14. He had this problem as well and there were some other good suggestions of where the problem could stem from.

My other car did this, and we had a 300c at the dealership do this, turned out the very bottom of the winshield was leaking and it ran down the dash. check your seals on the windshield

A friend of mine's mustang had a leaking heater core (or evaporator core, cant remember atm). But if it is leaking then it will smell like coolant, otherwise it's probably one of the above mentioned problems.

I have installed 3 AFC's and in all 3 cars the carpet was soaked. Its only the MSP i have seen this in, other protege's dont have this problem

i had the same problem with the water getting......was cleanin under the hood one day and found the problem...wouldn't tell by lookin at it...but when i put water to it it was noticeable......i can get pics of where i found the problem if needed

its on the firewall underneath the a/c lines that go to the evaporator
