AEM SRI causing engine overheat?

I recently installed the AEM SRI for the protege in my P5. I rerouted it to fit behind my headlight since I got the mtx intake, and my car is atx. So this meant I had to move my coolant tank as well. Now, I've been noticing a lot more heat being emitted from my engine. Now is this because of all the removed parts causing the engine to be more open so more heat can escape up? or am I having a problem? I've been paying attention to the guage and it hasn't gone above the middle. If I'm not having a problem, do you guys recommend I get a heat shield for the intake? Other than that, the intake is awesome and has been working fine.

PS. I know my engine bay looks like crap, I'm planning on fixing that haha.

I have the same intake (AEM mtx on my atx) and have had no problems since it was installed in November of 2006 by Altspace. You could always place your coolant bottle like mine is, maybe you will see a difference. (dunno)

You will need to bend the bracket to place the bottle in this position.
