My CX-7 Replacement

Well, the lease on my CX-7 isn't up until December 08, but I put a deposit on one of these yesterday to ensure I get a build spot in time.

It's an '08 BMW 135i

3.0 litre twin turbo, 306 HP, 300 TQ - but the 335, which is already out seems to be putting down around 270-280 WHP with the same motor, which is quite impressive.

The CX-7 is a good vehicle overall, but after the number of problems I've had, I wouldn't want to own another one (maybe even mazda in general), which is a shame because for a big vehicle its a blast to drive.

I'll still be enjoying my CX-7, and I'm hoping that all of the problems I've had with it are now fixed, as it really is a great vehicle when its not in the shop.

I really missed having a smaller vehicle with RWD and a MT.

I've been pondering these too. I had an 02 M3 Cabriolet which I remember with extreme fondness...The kind of vehicle you miss driving when you've been away from it too long :D

The One series with the twin turbo sure looks like it could be fun too -- obviously meets a very different set of needs vs cross-overs.

Those e46 M3's were great cars, but it's amazing how far BMW has come when this new 3.0 twin turbo engine is producing similar power.

I can't wait to see the new M3 in person, that car should be a beast... I'd love to own one, unfortunately we have winter to contend with up here and I'd feel really guilty driving a brand new M3 in -40 weather, salt, mud, snow, etc on a daily basis.

I'll never be able to own a vehicle that small again since I need a sizeable car for my work.

Retirement perhaps will afford me something like that :)

Yeah, my CX-7 Replacement would have to be a GT CX.
And Next to a 08 T5! The bimmers are great performers, and I really like the back end.. on the 1 but the front is not attractive in the least bit. The 3Series coupe and new X5 are the only lookers in the whole BMW line up, hmmm I might lease a X5 now that I think about it,(braindead Not to fond of leases, though. I'd have to buy it or pay massive over mileage fees.

I too have been keeping an eye on this bimmer. My ideal situation when my lease is up on the CX-7 is to finance the remaining 10k over a 5 year span and possibly either buy the 1 series bmw or lease it.

I was exactly the same way. Winters in MN have their fair share of salt and below zero too. Imagine the wifes surprise when that first fall came and the m3 was stored while daddy drove a newly purchased sport ute (encourage

Needless to say, owning that many cars was a hassle and tough on the wallet..The cx-7 meets lot's of my needs right now - but I still get the urge for that teutonic road car & driving experience that will have to be satiated one of these days again (drive2)

I switched from a MSP to this car and still have the MSP for now. It's going to kill me to sell that car as it lets the driver feel so connected to what you're doing. I know for a fact I'm going to need some kind of project vehicle to make myself feel complete again!
