those who have HID.....HELP!!!!

I installed my HID (the one from xenonshop) today....took me the whole day since im a newbie....the stupid wire thing and a screw kept falling into the headlight socket.....i ended up taking off the bumper and removed the headlight unit to do it.
anyway...here is my problem
after i installed the HID...whenever the DRL turns on, the HID flickers then goes black out....then when i turn on the headlight right away...the HID would not go on....I have to switch the headlight off...pull the handbrake so that i turn off the DRL....then turn on the headlight again in order for my HID to go on before i release my handbrake
but...when my HID is on....if i switch off the headlight to DRL...then the HID will stay on...weird!!!
So, should i:
1) just let the DRL on and let the HID to flicker then black out (i am scared this will damage my ballast or bulb)
2) turn on the headlights even during daytime (this is what i will be doing b4 i figure out what to do...but feel so stupid doing this)
3) turn on the headlights then switch back to DRL (the HID will remain on this way without flickering...so strange)
3) Disable DRL...black out (no DRL is illegal in Canada)
4) Use Fog light as DRL (i heard this is what most people do)
5) Use hight beam as DRL (is it possible?)

What did you guy do to take care of the DRL problem???
i don't want to drive around with headlight on during daytime...this is kind of stupid
im open to any advise.....thx

EDIT: i notice more problem...when i turn my key to ON...the battery, oil and check light went on...is this normal?
also for the fog as DRL mod....for me the empty slot was used for the light of the security system...is the switch mandatory???

use fog light or high beam as DRL. a lot of cars use the high beam as DRL just running it at like half voltage to prolong bulb life... but doing the fogs would be a lot easier.

Definitely don't drive around with the HIDs flickering like that, it's probably not good for stuff.

Use the fogs as your DRL. If it wasn't for the fact you need DRL I would say disconnect them. Making the hid's flicker is bad for the bulbs and the ballast.

ic
from the How-to that teaches you redirect DRL to ur fog....it looks like that i need to install a switch....is the switch a must???

here r the locations for my ballasts...not the best place on the p5 but they work.....i was planning to put them at the hiding under the bumper (saw this in other threads) since i had the bumper off...but those security wires used that spot(dark) (chair)

Definitely DO NOT keep your lights on if they are flickering. Bascially what's happening is that your relay is flickering or sticking. This could cause your ballasts to fail prematurely.

For your DRLs I would use your fog lights. I am pretty sure the switch is mandatory. I got mine for 9$ from a junkyard.

I'm rolling around without DRLs right now. I have my corner lights on but that's it. I disabled mine by grounding the parking break wire. I just sold a bunch of HID kits in a GB and I picked up a DRL disabling relay. It works really well and avoids having to ground the handbrake.

it's waaay up under there if I recall correctly.. and yeah, depending on where your security system is installed it may be blocking your view. If it's the factory security system just unplug all the connectors on it, it's a pretty simple unit so it's not hard to hook back up.

oh well.....gave up.....i just disable the DRL....since i can't find the fog light relay...i can't do the fog mod
can anyone post a pic of the fog light relay??? i really need to know wut it looks like b4 i try again

How do you just disable the DRL? Rather than re-wire it to the fogs? I just wanna disable the DRL (without grounding my ebrake switch) and not have to re-wire to the fogs.

What is this DRL disable relay you talk about?
