So I didn't stack up to the roof, but I did get a 6' bookshelf and 4' chest of drawers in there, with a middle seat remaining, to boot. Now only if I could eliminate that "Some Assembly Required" part (scratch)

Hah. I got a 32" by 80" door from Home Depot into the 5 AND managed to transport one child home at the same time. OK, so I had to fold the front seatback down as well, but I was very impressed. Unfortunately, no pictures.

I wish I had some photos on my computer of my Protege5's maiden voyage.. about a mile after I bought the car, my mom called me (she was behind me in her car) to tell me to pull into this furniture store out on cape cod that sells unfinished furniture.. she bought a HUGE dresser and it fit in the p5.. I actually had to slide the front passenger seat forward as much as possible and tilt it (it sorta almost folds, about as much as most coupes do to allow rear seat access).

So far, I've brought home a 3 piece sectional, gigantic wall-unit, dining room table, chairs, kitchen table, chairs, bar stools, 7' garage storage unit, work bench and under bench rolling chest, and the list goes on. Not all at once, obviously, but in almost every case, I've been able to get all the doors and the hatch shut. I've really stuffed it.(idhitit) I love this car!

I was chuckling at the thread name. The most significant one loves IKEA and, silly enough (really silly I should say), when we were shopping around for this car, one of the conditions proposed was for it to be "IKEA" compliant. Wife actually measured a couple of the most common IKEA boxes and took these measurements to the dealers we visited. MZ5 passed it OK...

.... and sharing the pain: "some assembly required" is on every single IKEA box I've seen. The "some" word is definitely stretched by the IKEA marketing guys.

When I was building my storage building I needed some 10' sections of flashing for the roof. You should have seen the looks I got when I walked up to the 5 carrying those!

They stretched from the the dash to the rear, but they fit without having to hang outside the car.

It made me wish the rear glass was on hinges though. I think that would be a very useful touch to our car.

...and these are the only few times when I get to "borrow" the MZ5 nowadays. Echoing Jandree's pic. Great interior configuration and space. I managed to take this ugly pic just 2 seconds before I heard a loud yell: "Hurry up, its cold out heah!" (no)

And yup, the bottom cartonboard box was not there to just to protect the folding seats, it had a complete storm door inside (about 5 inches were out of the car but no driving trouble) ;)
