I just bought the G3 brackets and I was wondering what type of different fog light setups have been used?

I think it might be cool to get yellow HID fog lights to go for that jDM style...
or if anyone has specific fogs that will work with the brackets please post what you have.

My intial idea was to find a smaller type of fog light compared to the stock msp fogs if this is possible...really not sure though??

thanks guys

I forget what mine are but they are made by Pilot and I got them to sit deep into the opening (I don't like when they sit far out). You used to be able to buy them from Autozone but they no longer carry them. They are the 7 color halo fogs. I liked the size of the fogs but didn't like the 7 color halos so I just disabled the color halos so just the H1 fog light bulb is functional.

As an FYI, stock 03 MSP/P5 fog lights will not fit into the openings on the 03.5 lip.

I'm about to put these on myself... They're Pilot PL-362-w. I got them from Amazon for $60 and Car Domain has them also

do you have any pics of the pilots that you are using??

thanks for the info

This is a shot of mine. You can see how they sit in further.

No problem. I believe that I actually installed the G3 brackets backwards so that they sit in further. I had to trim the inside part of the lip a little in certain places to get the clearance I needed but the end result was worth it.

If you install them as intended, the fog lights will sit very far out in the opening in the lip. Look in the vehicles for sale section for a blue speed for sale from II-Savy. He has G3 brackets installed correctly and you can see how far the fogs sit out compared to mine.

You can go the easier route or you can install them my way which requires trimming and I had to manipulate the brackets a little. I also had to adhere the fogs to the brackets with a bunch of zip ties because I couldn't get the fogs to bolt to brackets after I manipulated the brakets a little.

Just want you to know all the info before hand.

That's what I'm deliberating about myself... I had them test fitted the way they're supposed to go, but it just doesn't look right to me. I'm probably going to flush mount them to the bracket also using some zip ties. My concern was do they move around alot on you like that or do they sit pretty stable? They just sit out too far on the bumper the other way, kinda annoying.

I like how your fogs sit further back within the lip. This is the look I'm going for.
I'm trying to find an yellow HID fog light kit to work with the brackets and when its complete I will post pictures. Hope it works out because it should look pretty cool.

I hear you, they looked odd to me the other way so I figured out another way to do it. Like I said, I had to trim so portions of my lip but I trimmed just enough and can still put my fog inserts back in if I ever return the car to stock. I have 2 zip ties on each arm of the G3 Bracket and they do not move at all, they aren't going anywhere or flop around. They are mounted flush against the braket and have no play. It sounds ghetto but it isn't and I have no worries about them. I can take closer pics if you want.

I'd appreciate if you could, this is a project that I would like to complete asap...

I'll take some tomorrow and post them. You won't be able to see how I mounted them to the brackets because I'm not going to remove them but I will take closer pics from the front.

I'll crawl under the car to see if I can get a shot through the lip showing the back but I can't promise anything. At lease you will see how flat they fit.

Here you go, these were the best I could get. I took off the splash shield under the car to try and get some shots from behind. You can kind of see how I had to bend the arms on the G3 brackets in toward the foglights pretty far to get clearance to fit the whole assembly inside the lip opening. You can also see the zip ties in some of the rerward pics.

I just want to let you know that this is more complicated than you think because if you install them the intended way, the bracket itself sits flush against the lip and then you can slide the foglight in the bracket arm slots to align the fog light and get the beam pattern straight.

Doing it my way, you have to bend the arms the opposite direction and the foglight/bracket assembly can not be mounted flush against the lip otherwise the beam pattern would look like this when viewed from the drivers seat \ / and you need to get it to look straight like this | |.

I bought long self tapping screws and when I had the whole foglight assembly together I held it where I wanted with tape and then drilled small holes straight threw the 4 bracket holes and through the lip. The screws were a larger diameter than the holes in the brackets so screwing the screws through bracket holes put threads in the bracket holes to hold the assembly to the lip.

The two holes (top and bottom) that are closer to the center of the car get screwed in almost as far as they can go so that side is pretty flush with the lip. The two holes (top and bottom) that are closer to the sides of the car are what you have to play with how far you screw them into the lip to get the whole assembly straight both vertically and horizontally.

I hope that helps, I also painted my brackets and screws with textured undercoating to protect them frum rust since they are simply steel.

Good luck!

thanks mark for the great pics bro.
These will indeed help me out once i get some fogs. What bulb type are you using, H3?

that's definitely going to help me... I didn't get a chance to do it this weekend, might take the time to do this on Friday as I'm trying to go snowboarding Saturday so having these hooked up for the drive up there would definitely be sweet. I'm thinking about a way to make the bracket arms sit in a little further so the bracket itself does sit flush and the light sticks out a little bit more than the way you did it but less than it was designed for. I'll let you know how that works out. I may just end up going your route as I know it will work in the end...
