so im am creating a small timeline of the history of the automobile combined with racing and architecture. for those that dont know i am an architecture student and m current project is designing (man i flipped when we got this project) to create a space for a collector of 1950's american race cars to display his cars. so part of my opening statements will be to tell the history of racing per say. this timeline will not be very big so i dont need tons upon tons of info. but what i do need is more buildings...or iconic tracks of racing. the timeline will have 2 sides...one with history and one with the buildings that are a response to this history. so far these are the facts im going to include...

Lingotto building built in Turin, Italia 1923 for Fiat.
Model T introduced by Ford 1908
1885 internal combustian engine invented by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Germany
first automobile sold by DMG in 1890
1895 first known american automobile race in chicago's Jackson Park
1909 Indianapolis Motor Speedway built
1966 24 hours of daytona begins
1954 stock car racing is organized in america
1973 oil crises
2007 BMW Welt completed by Coop Himmelblau

just need a few more. if anyone could help me out i figured it would be you guys.

this is what i have so far....anyone think im missing something vital? remember this is for american race cars of 1950s so im trying to keep non american events before 1950...except architecture of course...

hmm...well the type of cars that this project is for is more geared towards street/track style racing. at least the cars being displayed would not generally be the cars used for 0-60 times. thanks for the input though.

1971 and 1972 Datsun with Pete Brock and John Morton dominate the seasons with the Datsun 510 and win trans am 2.5 both years. (while missing the first race in 1971, and winning 6 of 10 races in 1971 and 1972).
