Look What I Did Today

After much procrastination and obstacle after obstacle, I finally got a couple of things done.

First off, I finished my homemade grounding kit. I made it myself and tried to emulate 1sty's kit as much as possible because his was top-notch as I understand it. I used 8 awg wiring from KnuKonceptz, Monster sealed-end ring terminals, SoundQuest battery terminals, and heat-shrinked everything to further protect it from the elements. I did all the soldering, crimping, measuring, and installation myself. It may not sound impressive but I pretty proud of how it came out. My stock grounds were looking a little worse for the wear and I needed to redo my amp wiring and such. Pretty inexpensive mod if your a DIY kind a guy.

Second, I got my Mazdaspeed 4-point harness installed. The belts say Mazdaspeed on them (in the pics they are covered by my knock-off Mazdaspeed belt pads) but the harness itself is made by Sabelt (one of the best as I understand). I know I'm still using a stock seat but I hope that will miraculously transform into a Corbeau FX1 pretty soon. I love the feeling of being strapped in like that, it might even take away a little of my hatred toward the lack of bolstering in the stock seats.

Wow, you'd better hope you never roll your car man. That angle looks way too sharp for your harness.

It's just the light and angle of the picture. I know about the 45 degree from the horizontal thing and I made sure it was right. The seat hadn't been adjusted yet either, it will actually be slightly more forward making the harness angle better. It's kinda slack because I'm not sitting in it, making the rear look lower than it would be when I'm buckled in.

Rolling your car with a harness at a bad angle isn't the issue- a head on collision with a harness at a bad angle will shorten your spine. A roll over accident can screw you either way by not letting you flop out of the way.

The harness look nearly identical to my Sparco Clubman.

Looks good!

What's that thing near the hood latch- that metal plate thing?

Thanks!

That's the radiator diverter plate from Apex Motorsports. I did it mainly for looks but it's supposed to force air flow into the radiator (or SMIC for you MSP guys).
