Side Skirt Gap

I recently installed the MSP side skirts and they mate up fairly well except for the fact that the angled point near the front wheel well doesn't sit up flush against the car.

The skirts I bought had busted mounting tabs so I was wondering if that allowed them to warp? Also the part where it curves into the point is a bit chewed up as well.

Is there anything I can do to correct the problem? I've often heard of skirts and lips being molded on, might that solve my problems?

It's rather embarassing because it looks like ass. Can't really tell when your standing a few feet away, but when you get up close you can defintely notice it.

Any insight would be appreciated, Thanks.

Well its either cause the mounting tabs are busted and causing it to pull away from the car or the tabs arent in all the way I had to smack mine good with my hand to get them all to snap in. If the prob is the mounting points on the skirts go buy you some plastic weld made by permatex from autozone or advance and glue them back they will be as good as new. What did you use to mark the locations of the holes when you mounted them should be 14 holes per side??

Ya, check tabs. Just FYI I kind of "grafted" my WW skirts to my car using black automotive silicone... Looks completely subtle and adds to the look IMMENSLY! I was even thinkingo f doing that with my stock skirts. Something to think about.

ahhh..forgot to mention I didn't tab it, 3/4s of the tabs were broken off, so I used 3M double sided tape *trys avoids jeers*. ( I knows, lesson learned about buying bad products and trying to take shortcuts.) It's only 60mil thick but not enough to make that part pull away.

I guess I was wondering if I could get it molded to the body? Not sure what the process entails, but I've seen people do it to lips/bumpers, so I was thinking it might solve my problems.

Got any pictures Maxx? That seems like an interesting process.

At any rate, I'm thinking that I'm going to shell out the $$ for new ones and PROFESSIONAL installation.

Yeh I would pay the 170 and get you some new ones they arent really that hard to install just makes you nervous drilling all those holes.

Yeap, Gonna see what I can do. I was nervous enough putting holes in my front bumper for the sedan lip, I can only imagine how I'd be drilling into metal!

Believe it or not, I actually came across a free pair at work. We occasionally have to clean up properties that people abandon and I found two black p5 skirts. No clue who's they are or how they got there, but they have all the clips! might take them in and ask the bodyshop if they will work.

Sure, here are a few. You can kinda see what I mean. I don't have any pics of it specifically. Just take some black silicone and run a bead down the length of the upper seam. Look in this thread for pics:

Oh, okay. I think I see whatcha mean. The long line along the top of the skirt. Does look kinda slick... Is it visible only when you're up on the car? I like the look though so maybe I'll steal that little detailing tip from you and do that when I install my skirts. Looks good though...

Honestly, no one even notices it. That's the point. It looks factory that way, instead of a big ghetto ass gap.

Hey Don, those skirts are from the kid w/the P5 that works at the Casino...he has a pair of Wings skirts on his now if I'm correct; As far as a bodyshop in Rome... I personally don't trust any, but I'll see if I could call my buddy up that just had some great work done to his Explorer in a spot in Utica and see how much it'll run yea...

Its just a install for paint as well ?

Oh, I've seen his black P5 around town, that's who I thought it might have been. I found them on the 400 block of Williams st., if he ever needs/wants them back let me know, they were going to get tossed in the trash.

Yeah, it'd probably be side skirt paint and rear valence paint, plus install. If he has any idea let me know. Thanks man!

dude.. easy fix. just pop rivet them in that area, and fill it will black silicone, or body filler, and have it painted. it'll fix your problem

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to look into that, seems a lot cheaper than getting everything redone.
