New Autometer Boost Gauge Calibration????

Hello all,

I just got my Autometer Ultra Lite Boost Gauge in the mail, and I'm quite happy with how it looks and matches the gauges in my car (especially after DaveB's rings), but am concerned because the needle doesn't seem to be pegged on zero. It actually looks to be at 1psi. Obviously it's not hooked up right now.

I've attached a picture of it. Is this what it's supposed to look like when it's on zero? Has anyone else had the same problem? 1psi can mean quite a bit of difference between 9.5psi and 10.5psi. I don't want to break that magic 10 barrier so if anyone else has experienced this.....send your comments my way. Thanks.

OK.....just making sure I don't have to return it to Autometer. Because I'd hate to get it all installed and have it do the same thing, and then uninstall it to return it.

So yours came the same way falkofire?

*hijacks a dead thread*

For all of you with the Autometer Ultra-lite series... what color if any does it light up at night? If it dosent light up, is it hard to see? I searched and didn't see any mentions of the color at night, or if anything lights up.

it lights up with a white ring around it......hard to describe..ill take a pic in a few hours when it gets dark out,..you can change the bulb that lights up though..and autometer includes a green and a red bulb condom

is autometer the only company that sells boost gauges in psi???

i ordered a Defi D series. 30/30 mmgh/psi, for vacuum, and boost.
Also, its white face, with orange glow, so its a close match to stock gauges. A bit more than the Autometer, at around 115.. but its supposed to be a agreat product! Cant wait to get it installed.

autometer illumination sucks

you should see how the greddy gauges matches 100% with out cluster....seriously, I have an autometer boost gauge and the greddy EGT and A/F.

The problem is, greddy gauges are big, at least the ones that matches our cluster.

I'm to cheap for a greddy (but yes i know you get what you pay for). I'll await the pics tho :)

If you put the red "condom" over the light in the Ultra Light gauge, the color matches really well with the stock gauges. But yeah, it's just a ring around the outside. Someone on here posted pictures of there setup at night, but I think it's buried in a thread, so search might be difficult.

I personally don't like the way the Greddy's look. I know they're supposed to be a better gauge, and the backlit numbers make it easier to see at night, but the Ultra Lite just matches the Stock Gauges SO well (especially with the DaveB gauge rings). The font of the numbers on the Greddy's looks lame in my opinion. Anyway, I don't have mine installed yet, but I may be doing it this Sunday. I'll post pictures for everyone when I do.

i dont like autometer, period.
Download my video (15.3s) in my signayure, it will give you an ideas of how the autometer looks versus the greddy @ night.

To me its a bit easier to read the Autometer gauges then it is to read the GReddy one. The GReddy one doesnt make any sense to me, just a bunch of numbers it looks like, but then again I dont have one either. I think I will stick with the "rich" and "lean" readouts.

Matt
