In my case its a 45k dollar car, and i'll do whatever i can to protect the paint from a rock chip. The thing is my baby! Whats so hard understand about trying to preserve a cars exterior? Just because it isnt an Enzo doesnt mean you dont have to take care of it. And as for the road trip, we were caravaning down with 4 other cars, and "sustained high speeds" and the highways in nebraska, iowa, and missouri are s*** to begin with.

May as well tape up the hood and roof too. Hell, even the trunk and wing! I have chips on my hood near the windshield, the roof, and yes... even my wing. Thing is, when rocks go flying, they bounce and can hit anywhere.
Just stay away from tailgating trucks.
