WHAT ARE CARS
Much like Brian's rebuild journal, I am making one for the new sound system in my Mazdaspeed Protege. I reserved a few posts below this one just in case I run out of room.

The goals for the project are:

*Quality of sound.
*Value for money.
*Have a good looking setup.
*As lite as possible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The budget (so far) for the project is $2000.
Money spent (December 26, 2005)
Aprox. $550 out of $2000
(Subs and amp were a part of a pre-order group buy $500.)
Elemental Design Audio NINe.1 single-channel amp.
Claimed specs from manufacturer.
Model Name : NINe.1 Class D Amplifier
RMS Power @ 12.5v : 1200 x 1 @1ohm,900 x 1 @2Ohm,450 x 1 @4Ohm
(2) Elemental Design Audio 13Kv.2 Subwoofers.
Model Name : 13Kv.2 Subwoofer
Available Voice Coils : Dual 2 - or - Dual 4
Power Handling : 250 - 500 WRms
Misc. wood and screws and junk ($50).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I recieved the subs and amps in 2005 and started construction on the box but put the project on hold for over a year waiting for finances to clear up. This is the WRONG way to do a project like this, so, don't be like me.

(blowup)

Another sorry soul sucked into the etards....

I bought this back when everyone on this forum was saying how great they are, so let's not bring it up AGAIN. Ok?

pluto> sorry man I'm just way sensitive. I wish you the best of luck, and if you should ever happen to have any problems, get ahold of me, Hinsdight for me has led to some better ideas of how to goabout delaing with the man.

I think I have all the wiring and sound deadening I want all picked out, I'll try to order it tomorrow of I get a chance. This project is about to get done!

Awesome man. Goodluck! and don't forget carpet padding while you're doing deadening. as long as you've got things apart, the extra $20 or so you'll spend for way more synthetic carpet padding than you'd need is by far worth it.

Hey so I split out some of the extra noise. Fortunately you saved yourself some room anyway, butyea...

Hey what kind of source and high/mids are you running? Also, what're the specs on your box? Tuning freq? Volume?

I am going to retype the above posts to clear all this up. It's a box that was designed by eD for my subs.
