DG lip AND lowering.... too much??

Not that i'll be able to afford both of these real soon, but i really like the looks of the DG lip in the front, as well as a nice lowering (i would probably consider Tien s-tech springs) for the stance from the side. Would that lead to clearance problems?? Roads here aren't too bad, for the most part... but there are of course speed bumps, and the occasional steep parkinglot grade, as you'd find anywhere. Has anyone run both without problems??

And if you can't, which mod would you reccomend??

man i have the eibach sportlines and i have trouble clearing s*** with my stock bumper....regardless i still want to take the same route as you....i was thinking of just doing a 03.5 lip but they cost more and are hard to come by....i also dont want to get rid of my hid fogs........just study the roads and drive slow at night...

i have the DG lip and tein s-type spring and i have good clearance except over steep driveways and store entrances, but most of the scraping is not noticable

personally I think your nuts..I have GC coilovers on my MP3, dropped probably about halfway maybe a tiny bit more, and I scrape WITHOUT the DG lip quite often...I have always wanted that lip, but just know I will demolish it

its not good for if you need your car towed, just gotta hit driveways at a certain angle and you will be good, here is my clearance

I had a DG CF front lip and Goldline springs, I was always worried about scraping it on something. I had to be extra careful coming out of my driveway and most any enterance around where I live. I wouldnt say its a crazy idea but if you are paranoid about messing up the lip I wouldnt get it.

Mine is the titanium msp it has the DG lip, Goldline springs, and 205/40/17 tires. As you can see there isnt a whole lot of clearance.

Edit::: about the towing thing, I didnt have a screwdriver to take off the lip before it went on the truck when the LSD broke but it made it ok. I wish I would have taken it off though b.c the chains caused spider cracks in the clear coat. I did have to take it off to get the car off the truck though, it would have ripped off if I didnt.

when my car went on a flat bed my lip bent backwards (boom07)

I have eibach 1.75" lowering springs, and I have to be very careful not to bottom out!

I also love the look of the DG lip, I decided against it, it's a gamble...

Yeah I was freaking out and probably driving the drivers crazy b.c I kept telling them to go really slow and be careful, ect. They didnt have any blocks of wood either so at one point I lifted up as far as I could on the lip, which scratched the bumper underneath and ultimately as I stated the chains still cracked the CF b.c it doesnt bend :(

Procede with caution :) I've had my share of slammed rides in the past, including a body-dropped nissan truck. Point is; I know the special requirements and actions needed to drive low. I LOVE the look of the DG lip and had one on my Pro5 before I even put springs on (attachment #1) However, there are times that you simply can not control all of the variables (attachment #2). This lip is not cheap to paint correctly and at stock height, you won't be able to even clear a parking block. So rather than break my heart (and wallet) a second time, I switched to the 2003.5 MSP lip. The factory lip has just about as much clearance as not having a lip at all.

Edit: Last shot shows pre-install of factory lip, and the inspiration :)

i'm currently working on a very custome lip... i was roaming around the junk yard with a DSM buddy looking for a couple nuts and bolts and what not... when i came across a stock 1g pro. the lip on the front is removable by just a phillips screwdriver so i grabbed it. (it's 2 pieced by the way). anyway i've been taking the dremel saw to it and cutting the mounting spots so it will sit flush and pretty soon i'm going to mount it up. the sides sit flush with the bumper and the front is actually recessed back abour 2 inches... just holding it up to the bumper it looks SICK and hopefully i'll have it done soon so i can post up some pics.

i posted this here because the thing was 10 bucks and if you were able to make one you wouldn't be all that worried about clearing stuff with it (thumb)

my previous car... eibach pro-kit and lip .... it was a little too low for my liking.... i actually fukked it up a few months later on a step driveway. never bothered repairing it, sold it to somebody instead.

hahaha, i like that pic.

Thanks for the input all, and i'm eager to see that custom lip, sickspeed94
