just wondering if there is an easy way to do this. what i want to do is make a circular logo with text around the outside and a logo in the middle, and what i basically want to do is make it look like an old stamp, with the edges not smooth and gaps cut into it, that kinda thing. is there an easy way to do this in photoshop? i did a quick picture of the basic logo sans effect (or any good lookingness) so that i can play with it, but i'm not very good at photoshop so i'm wondering if someone has any pointers. thanks.

if it's not too difficult, could you explain how to do it so when i actually have a finalized version of the image i could do it?I used the "Rubber Stamp" font mentioned by Junior for the text., then I redrew the red shield in illustrator and applied a distort filter to it. After that I used a spatter brush to create the spatter shapes on the shield. I turned the spatters into shape and subtracted them from the shield.
