For the final event of the season, I borrowed a friend's 3-peice 13x9 Panasport wheels wrapped with Kumho V700 235/45/13. The wheel/tire combo weighed in at about 24lbs. Oh my god the car completely different. Acceleration was greatly improved, lateral grip was absolutely amazing, and I was about 1.5 seconds faster than I would have been with my normal wheels (using previous PAX placement as a comparison). I placed 1/12 in CSP today against some very tough drivers.
With the way the car performed today, I'm in love with my Miata again. I think I'm hooked on 13" wheels for the Miata for auto-x.
Unfortunately, I can't afford the $1000 price tag he's asking for a used set. However, I forsee a set of 13" rotas in the near future
