I don't understand how only Illinois people respond to the Illinois thread even though it gets bumped to the top of the list just like every other thread!

Yay for drinking in semi-moderation1

It's a cannon. My friend Chris has two of them. This one has a slightly smaller than golf-ball size barrel. The other one he owns can fit golf balls, and he's shot them well over 100 yards before.

That sucker was loud! Hilarious, too. We used aluminum foil for the ordinance, since there were kids around and it'd be safer. You can actually see the aluminum foil burning and flying out of the muzzle burst.

Times like this I love my own Canon's ability to shoot 8 second exposures :). We had a bet going as to whether or not there was any noticeable flash out of the muzzle. That shot proved it was pretty noticeable haha.

But this was perfect for me. The history nerd saw a great opportunity to take pictures and show these to my future students, as the muzzle-loading cannons, muskets, and rifles all used the same principles from the Revolutionary War up until the Civil War. So I now have a 5-10 minute PowerPoint ready to go :D

It was the loudest thing I've ever heard. Sounded just like the movie cannons you see going off, but louder. There were a couple neighbors w/m80's trying to compete, but they failed miserably hehe

You do that and I'll get some uniforms, a ramrod, powder, wadding, primer, and fuses.

We can have a Mazda Team Civil War meet hahaha
