rr racing front mount inserts installed

Wouldn't jacking up the engine a bit do the same thing as dropping the center support?

Sure; but I'm not sure how much you can jack up the motor. I felt I needed about 2"+ of clearance to do so. Besides, i was already underneath changing my oil, tranny fluid, and installing some GT Spec braces while doing this...

This is what you will be taking out to install the RR Racing mounts in.

It is in red.

I was going to add that mine may have been difficult because I had Tony's "side" insersts installed so I may not have had enough flexibility.

Then again, I didn't try jacking up the motor (though I didn't feel the need to remove the splash guards).

are you sure? I thought RR racing made inserts for front and rear, which should be mounts 4 and 5 in the diagram.

Correct; sorry about that

RR Racing: 4 and 5
AWR: 3 and 6

I got my RR front and rear inserts installed last weekend, and I love them . The car feels great, feels better off the line, quicker response between grears, and of course the wheel hop is gone. As far as the vibration goes it is very minimal, a very minor vibration increase, but better than I expected.

I'm assuming you had to remove the rear mount entirely?

no problem.

just to clarify for others, awr makes inserts for mounts 3 and 6, and makes full mounts for mounts 4 and 5 (going by the above diagram). RR racing makes inserts for mounts 4 and 5.

that sucks, there's no way to do it without taking out the mount?

That's what I was thinking; seeing that you don't need to technically replace the mount (as if you were going the AWR route).

yeah, the only reason i would use the RR Racing insert would be if i could get away from having to remove the rear mount. otherwise i would just use the awr one, even if it is a little stiffer.

Ok, from what I've read here, I'd say that 90% of the people here only installed the front inserts. Is the rear motor mount that of a pain to replace?

I've contacted Rafi @ RR-Racing. His prices are realy good, especialy for group buys. I'm doing one with a bunch of friends of mine in Montreal.

How much?

You mean the group buy prices?

For an order of 6 items or more he made us that deal (each):
$40 shipped for front & rear inserts kit
$25 shipped for front inserts only

My order: 6 front kits and 3 front only so a that makes a little $315 of inserts! Gotta love group buys! (rockon)
