Messed up the P5... need help

Well as the title says... I banged my P5 against the highway divider last night. :'( I need a new bumper, headlight, alingment, and some body work... probably new wheels (if I can afford them).

Do you guys have any idea of how much this will cost? I am still not sure if I should just report it to the insurance or try and pay for it myself. Should I take it to the dealer to get it repaired or should I try and do it somewhere else?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

...by the way does anyone know of a good repair shop in Philly?

Cry me river

I always repaired my "self inflicted bumps" myself, out of pocket.

It taught me good lessons, and I'm sure if I'd compared what I paid in insurance over the next several years, it was lots cheaper in the long run too.

The dealership is one answer, and you could also use a quality body shop that friends recommend. Hard to say without seeing all the damage, but expect it to be a grand or so, and be (pleasantly) surprised if it's less.

I sure you didn't need the smart ass comment from Aricjm15 in regards to his brothers engine, who was told not run that much boost. Get a quote on the damage if it's more than you can afford out of pocket, put through your insurance.

I just got in my first fender bender last week (Lincoln Navigator rear-ended me while I was stopped at a red light...)
and let me tell you repairs add up quick! My uneductated estimate was $1500, but the total for new tail light, replacement rear bumper (it was cracked), and a little body work/paint is going to run $2800 (Canadian)

what year is your protege5? i know that when i wrecked mine, i was amazed to hear that each wheel could be worth as much as $409! I just bought some Motegi MR7's instead of purchasing the one damaged wheel...aint that a deal?

well i got an estimet from when a kid in a civic ran into my front fender, it came to 860, even though the fender was just 180....
