Would this setup rub?

I scanned through the fitment recipe thread quickly but couldn't find an answer for this. I've been looking at 17x17.5 Axis Reverbs with a 42mm offset. would these rub on an MP3 with 205/45/17 Hankook Ventus Sport K104s? Would 215/40s be better?

205's will be better. you will be cutting it close with a 7.5" width and only +42mm. You will prob be ok with stock mp3 springs w/o anyone in the backseat but once you get loaded down you will probably rub.

Rishie's fitment guide clearly states that +48 offset is recommended for 17x7.5 with 205/40/17 but +45 may fit but be very tight.

I don't know what else to say but... RTM!!! (RTM)

Ehhh .. I'm running a 7.5" on my MSP, and they're also 18", and I'm not getting any rub on the stock suspension.

Just my $.02 ..

I wrote this on another thread:

Don't know if I am too late to help here goes anyhow. I just got wheels put on that 17x7 with a +42 offset. I went to the shop and originally ordered 215/40 Toyo Proxes 4's. My car has Eibach Sportlines and when the wheels were put on the rears looked like they were definitely going to rub. That practically level with the fender and were about a inch away since my car is lowered. After seeing that, I spoke to the installer and told him that there was no way that I was leaving and ruining perfectly new tires especially when I knew they going to rub. I even jumped into the trunk just to prove it to him. He agreed to switch them out to 205/40 Toyo Proxes 4's. They are barely making it. I mean barely. I think it really depends on the tire too. If you go to Toyo's site, they list the widths of each tire. The Proxes 4 215's are 8.9 inches wide and the 205's are 8.6 inches wide. I have to say that 8.6 is definitely the limit. If you look at the Toyo Proxes T1-S, 215's are 8.6 inches wide and the 205's are 8.2 inches wide. I would check with Yokohama and see what the width of their 215's are. You might be okay depending on it's width. Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys. I have stock spings so i guess it would be pretty close. I''ll probably just look for some different rims.

Not that it makes any difference but i bought my car with 18x7.5 Konig Prophets with 225/35/18s already on and I have yet to experience any rubbing with them. I can't find any info on the offset of these so I'm assuming they're at least 48mm.

You will prob be ok with stock mp3 springs w/o anyone in the backseat but once you get loaded down you will probably rub.
Damn I wish I didn't have any friends
