Emergency TT install Help!!!

Ok, tech at my dealership is doing my TT install...everything is going fine it's in nice and clean and power is going to it...but car wont start. He says everything checks out but he is getting no power from the ignition switch. Can anyone think what the problem is? He was using the instructions plus the guide on here to assist, and everything is hooked up accordingly. He says one of the wires it told you to tap for the ignition was wrong because it had constant power going to it or something (as per the instructions). I know this isn't something that can be diagnosed over the internet but if anyone had similiar problems please help. He thinks the ignition switch is ****** somehow and they have to order me a new one..meaning I wont have my car for a few days now!!!!(yupnope) Can anyone help??!?!?!?

additional info: even with the alarm module and TT pulled it wont start...could he have shorted/blown anything. It looks like he tapped into wires on the alarm harness...instead of right above it...bad? God dammit, this part has been in my trunk for months and now that I want to have it put in the s*** wont work....****** A

Dont remember the wire colors on the ignition harness but one of the color is double (red?)...dont remember. Should be 6 wires and some colors are doubled.

I would think since hes a tech he would know a bit more. take a volt meter check each wire at the appropriate key posission (off, secondary/auxillary, on)

Should be a breeze if he has access to wiring diagram...all you need is (12V ignition, 12V seconadry/auxillary and 12V constant)

Best advice is to tap into the ignition harness...makes it simple. Cant guide you through the alarm harness.

ok ok ok ok got it started...but when it times down...it tries to start the car!!!! So instead of keeping it running when it is counting down it is attempting to restart it!!! Wrong wire anyone?!?!?! Jesus Christ this sucks!!! And the guy working on my car is honest to god the best tech we have....he knows MAzdaspeeds in and out. Oh well, s*** happens...I just hope at the end of today I am driving away in a car with a functioning turbo timer.

This is another example of why I'll never get one. All of that money to buy one, then the labor, then the above hassle...all so that I don't have to leave the car thirty seconds earlier.
Plus, it devalues the car when you go to sell it.
Oh well, I guess if you have the time and the money, what the hell.

its ******* easy as hell. obviously he has the wrong wires hooked up. he probably connected the ignition wire on the TT to the starter wire on the car, so it tries to start it.

ok, everybody calm down.
make SURE he uses the side of the harness on the picture below:

Ignition%20Harness.jpg

TT......................................CAR
Red Wire - 12 v constant --- red wire
Green Wire - 12 v ignition --- Blue Wire
Blue Wire - accesory -------- Black/White
Black Wire - Ground --------- Any good Grounding Source
Purple Wire ----------------- Ground OR Hand break

i dont think he blew any fuses, but i'm sure he used a wrong harness.
ALSO!!! when i installed a greddy TT and did not hook up the handbrake wire the car tried to start itself after the key was removed and TT started the countdown.

ok everything seems fine now (thanks guys!!! Dr. Sound much thx) BUT....when it comes time for the TT to spring into action...it barely "catches" the car before it turns off...resulting in a major "stumble" in idle when you shut the car off. Everything has been quindruple checked again...any ideas? Oh Btw he fried my alarm module somehow, so they are ordering me a new one. Does anyone elses TT make their car stutter when shutting off?

Sounds like between the two of you, neither knows what they are doing and/or shouldn't be touching the install...

Sorry man.

Hey mine was installed 2 weeks ago and the same thing happened. Whenever I would turn the car off it would almost shut off (for like a quarter second) but then the TT would kick in. That happened on automatic timer mode. On manual mode it didn't happen. Now, even on automatic mode, it seems to be fine. This TT is probably the best out there but it takes a little figuring out.

listen to dr sound he helped me with my APEXi TT and it was a piece of cake, took all of an hour and most of it was the labor of removing under dash panels and ecu cover. it was really simple, maybe b/c it was apex but i only had to hook up like 5 wires: constant, remote, grounded to car, o2 sensor at ecu, and hand brake switch.

congrats on figuring everything out ok, post a pic of where you put it, i am curious

ok flipped little switch and now it no longer stumbles!!! So now I gotta wait for my new alarm module to come in....and at that point he is going to cut the two wires so I can lock and arm the alarm while counting down. Then I will be super happy....until then I gotta do the annoying door lock button thing or just hang around like usual to arm the alarm...that wont prevent my vehicle from being stolen anyway if it goes off. But whatever!!! Another fun day of MSP wierdness.

All that work and you still have to hang around to arm the car:) j/k

Glad it all got hooked up....Man you are making me rethinking getting one....LOL

It is probably just easier to put and alarm in with a built in turbo timer....That way it is all clean and do by a pro alarm installer...But still glad you got it working.

LMAO
just got home and read the last few posts.
hehe, i was about to post about the switch in the back.....A>B right?
good job on figuring that out, the stumbling issue is cause by different ignition pulses.

some cars have weaker pulses than others......also in different voltages.......that's what the switch in the back is for.

cut the wires and you're golden :)

this might help:

Alarm%20Module%20Diagram.jpg

cut the pin 6 orange wire at the alarm brain 2 inches up (diagram on bottom of alarm) then take the alarm side of the wire (the side of the wire still connected to the alarm) and tap it into the thick black orange wire coming out of the alarm harness. Then tape up the car side of the orange wire.

then cut the blue/white wire on the keyless module.

P.S. hey commie, i recommend high mode #2 or #3. then u get about :55 to 1:20.
