Stock rod limitations?

So the rods in the photos are from the engine that ran 13.15 @ 105.6? Lack of detonation is the only reason they lasted that long, that's for sure! The pistons look good.

If I'm only looking for about 220whp-230whp, is replacing the rods with forged ones sufficient. Or would I need to get pistons too?

you can swing it with stock pistons... but they need to be altered. why not do it while you are in there?

I used to have quite a few sensor tricks done. Now my trick is the MPI.

I kinda feel sorry for the poor guy.

same thing happened to me - curled and bent the hell out of my rods when my engine went pop

Well I finally got around to doing a complete tear down of my blown motor. To my suprise I found all the intact connecting rods to be bent, quite badly. What is really strange is the fact all the cylinder walls are in perfect condition, virtually no scoring whatsoever. The bearings are perfect, I mean I seriously beat the living crap out of this thing, hardly ever let it warm up before I beat the snot out of it and rod bearings are in perfect condition. If not for the connecting rod wrapped around the crankshaft, I wouldn't think twice about using it again. The journals have no marks or scoring at all. If it weren't for the holes in the sides I would use the block again also.

Pics. of destruction? Sure!!
How many psi's where you running?
