i am lookin into getting a larger intercooler, possibly a fmic set up. has anyone gone custom with there fmic. i find that the prices on the fmic kits are a little ridiculous.

you should be able to get a custom kit done for about 500 bucks. Thats how much mine cost. Just figure out what size intercooler you want, buy one off of ebay or get a spearco or apex if you want and have someone make you the piping.

yeah, unless you know exactally what you need it is going to be much high than 500. i got quoted at $1100 for a full custom fmic with pipes and a greddy type s bov.

Well you can get an INTERCOOLER for like 300 or less on ebay, but then having the pipes fabricated can be a pain to get a good job at a cheap price. I'd say give yourself anywhere from 600-800 bux for a custom set up, remember you need a BOV, tigwelds, everything, i'm sure you dont wanna run with steel, probably aluminum? Figure 300 bux for intercooler core, custom piping plus flange for BOV, plus hump hoses, and clamps for about 400 i'd say. Well i guess it all depends on the shops around ya, call around man.

Depends on what type of core your going to get. A tube and fin core can be bought for really cheap... a bar and plate will cost you 350-400 atleast. I totalled around $900 for all the hoses, clamps, bov, piping, air filter, core. I'm designing my own kit and probably doing the welding myself, which will knock more off that estimate.

This is ours. Ready to bolt on, ready to ship and can be installed in just hours so you can enjoy more power without all the hassle.

does the stock air box work on the hiboost kit?
It was designed to work with either the AEM or Injen Intake, but I heard that some one was using it with the stock air box.

We carry the Injen intake for $250.00 when shipped along with the FMIC kit.

I ordered the hi boost kit and it didnt fit right. the pipe behind the bumper came loose while driving because the bracket that bolts on the front would not fit. when an intercooler pipe comes loose that spells trouble. i could not drive my car anywhere. and the flange for the bov is on the wrong pipe and even welded way too far down. I was not happy with this kit.

Most of these issues are mainly due to bad installation. The hoses coming loose is because the clamps are not placed in the right position or not tight enough.
The flange is not welded. It is a cast piece so there is no way It is welded in the wrong place.

There are almost 100 kits sold and nobody else has had any trouble with the BOV placement or bracket fitment.

Make sure that all clamps are tight and after the pipe bead.
