My P5 got ****** up by a suburban

Yeah this ******* sucks I was driving home from college and I was like a block away from my house when some 64 year old ass hole blew the stop sign cut me off and even though I hit the brakes I smashed into him. My whole front end is ****** up my cf grille my headlights everything is ******. My radiator is also ****** up all this coolant was bleeding out of my car. It's bad I could see my damn filter all the way down. My hood is crushed all the way up I was only going like 25mph-30 max anyway. When the cops arrived I told them the story and they said not to worry since I was on a main road and I had the right away not to mention my friends who were driving behind backed me up as well as some witness who saw the whole thing said the guy blew the stop sign. I will have pics up as soon as my computer gets back to me now I have no computer and no car and I have class in 5 min (sad2)

that ******* suck man...sorry d00d, but look on the bright side, so long as it wasn't too serious damage, you'll get a whole new front clip...courtesy mr. douchebag in the Suburban...your car should be fine unless you bent the fram, but only goin 25-30, I don't see it as being that serious of damage, just cosmetic..and it's good that you have so many witnesses and friends who saw the incident. Best positon possible for you, many witnesses, no fault of yours, and some guy who has deep pockets...doesn't your neck hurt????

EDIT* Although, you probably should get a quick physical just to make sure, sometimes injuries don't appear till later...whiplash being one of them, and back problems.

Yeah it does suck it happened on monday right now I'am driving around in my dad's car it's a montero sport and he got the rental since you have to be 21 to get it and I'am 20. I really don't care since the rental is a 2005 dodge caravan minivan. Anyway the insurance called and everything is getting sorted out, the guy is at fault so I don't have to worry about that. Me and my dad talked to the guy at the bodyshop and he said that the car is not totalled and that it can be fixed. I'am hoping to see if I can get a JSP cf hood and AWR upgraded performance radiator and upgraded parts to replace the stuff that got messed up. This really pisses me off since my neck and right shoulder also got sprained but other than that I'am fine. Also nothing happened to that assholes car the wheel got messed up and I dented his door and some scratches that's it barely noticable.

Ugh, hate to hear about more accidents Get on your adjuster's good side, find a GOOD body shop and file a Diminished Value claim to recoup some of your loss.

Well guys I'am so depressed right now (sad1) I got the estimate from the bodyshop today and I scanned the papers. Here are all the parts I need and the total cost of the repairs is going to be $5743.59 I'll try to get the photos uploaded once they get developed so you guys can see how my poor P5 looks.

I talked to the guy at the bodyshop and he gave me some good news and some bad news the good news is the car is totally fixable and the frame is entact so it's not totalled by any means and he promises that the car will look awsome. He also said that he will see about the CF hood I might have to pay the difference since the stock hood is only like $330 and I talked to him about the other parts and he said that I would have to pay the difference if the aftermarket parts are going to run a lot more than the stock parts.

Now for the bad news he said since I did'nt get my CF DG motorsports Grille insured before the accident through my insurance company they are just going to give me what a stock OEM grille cost which means the $220 grille that I had on there is now worth $31.75 so there goes $188 bucks down the gutter. He said that anything that I get on there that's aftermarket that I make sure and I get insured so that if another accident happens they will fully refund me the money. Good thing I did'nt have a whole DG CF front end or something like that because I would have flipped out and snapped. He told me that the insurance will not cover anything that is aftermarket w/o being insured. This hits me hard since I did'nt know this, I thought that the insurance company would just make a note after the accident of the value but they don't. He was telling me about this guy that came into his shop a month ago with a scion and he made him custom lambo door conversion which ran they guy like $3,000 and he told the guy to get the doors insured and gave him the bill but they guy did'nt listen a 2 weeks later he got into an accident and the insurance company would only cover the cost of the stock doors. The drawback insuaring all your aftermarket stuff is that your insurance will go up since your taking what the car cost and raising the total value of it.

Can't you just show them the receipt? My ex did that after someone stole her car for the wheels and left it up on blocks. They were gonna replace the stocks, until she showed them a receipt. Could be worth a shot to try...

oh wow, I didn't know about that either. I just keep my receipts. So we have to tell our insurance company about any mods we do to our car and get them insured? Will they charge anything extra?

Hmmm...lawsuit??? This guy damaged your property, therefore his insurance company has to make your car right. Exactly as it was prior to the accident. Time to sidestep the system and give the car a kick in the nuts!

Guaranteed the guy's insurance company will settle! It was his fault, as noted by the cop, so the guys got no legs to stand on in court. They'll settle...it's cheaper to pay up than have to pay your lawyer's fees once they lose in court.

Also, I don't get the whole "get your aftermarket s*** insured deal." I understand it's important if someone steals your car and your insurance company has to pay. But his insurance company is paying!
