Why to not park in Pittsburgh...

Less than a week after having my WW body kit installed, my car gets hit on the streets of Pittsburgh. This is less than a month after my car had it's mirror 'removed' by a driver on the same street. This time I not only lost one of my new MP3 mirrors (that replaced the last one), but they also hit my new bumper. I did learn my lesson this time and I vowed to never drive my car and park on the streets in this city ever again. I also filed my second police report with Pittsburgh's Finest, but we will see what that get's me (most likely nothing). Now it's back to the body shop to fix it and then it's going in the garage for the winter.

(argh)

sorry to hear but south florida isn't better. were your car parked both times (on the street?) or were you driving it when this happened?

i have a nice fat scratch on the pass side of my car that is like 2 feet long!!! ******* bastards. I hope they lose their left nut!!!

My car was parked on the street both times and I am going to buy a winter beater/pittsburgh car so that my car will not suffer the wrath of the wreckless drivers in this city. I also will place a new active security system on my car that will engulf cars that hit mine in flames.

My old car was parked on the curb at my home last winter. During Feb. a school bus hit my car, scraped all along the drivers side & knocked the side mirror off. He paused for a quick moment, then took off down the street. Mike went outside and yelled for me to come look at the damage. I didnt think the bus hit when I heard the sound. I thought the bus hit a pot hole that used to be out in the middle of the block. When I went outside I was LIVID! I called for a traffic officer to come out and find the bastard that did the damage. He caught up with the bus driver at his depot and gave him a ticket. The county paid for the damages, 2-3 weeks later and gave me a rental. The thing that pissed me off the most about the incident.... the guy was driving down my block and turning around in my cul-de-sac the very next day! I called his supervisor 3 times, then it escalated to the director of transportation. He didn't come down the block ever again, but that idiot was driving the bus the very next day. Children were on it at the time of the incident, not one parent was notified that the driver hit a parked vehicle while their children were in it. I don't allow my son to ride the bus unless it's to go to his after school program at the YMCA or for field trips where there are teachers and other adults on it. There have been several incidents involving school buses around here, unless your child tells you about what happened, they are not required to let you know about it unless injuries are involved.

that sucks dude.....thats why i neva park on the street, i would rather walk than risk that...although i have been hit in a parking lot before (not in this car *knocks on wood*)

since I have no job, if you could house me I could sit outside your house and when I see the person hit your car, jump out, slash all the tires, and shooot their motor then run away. Ill pick up my car later and never speak of it again...... Deal?

Start carrying orange construction cones in your trunk. Pop them out to the street side of your car when you have to park downtown. Works everytime in Dallas although the steet traffic here is nothing compared to pittsburg I'm sure.
