Got my lip repainted and tried something new...

Yuppers as the title sais. Took me procrastinating so long to get my lip fixed and the bumper repainted. But finally got it done last week. I decided that I needed to protect my bumper from scratches from the lip, so I went to home depot and bought weather stripping tape that's supposedly goes around metal pipes. The lip is almost a perfect fit with the tape all around it. The tape is very spongy, but I think it looks good. Then I monkey'd around with plexiglass (since I make clear computer cases) and made wind splitters, and took some paint and got that. Next time when I have a longer piece left over I'll make a splitter all the way across.

Oh before anyone sais I should get rims and lower my car. Yes I will do those eventually. Basically comes down to having a reason to do it. One being is that my stock tires are 3-4 months away from having little tread left, so by X-mas I'll have an excuse to get new tires, which means new rims with those tires (rockon). Second thing is that if I lowered my car, I wouldn't be able to get up my driveway with the lip on.

So yea or nea on them splitters? I think they look good to me, even though I know it so nonfunctional.

Last thing I have an extra MP5 bumper laying around, and I'm starting to get better at fiberglass, I may tackle making my own fog light covers. Also I'm going to monkey around with that extra bumper, and fill in the side markers, and ghetto an inlet for the CAI in the wheel well. Going to steal some ideas from the Buddyclub2 bumper as well.

Really funny how you white'd out your licenseplate but it shows it in the reflection ;)

looks good dude, and I like the splitters also (2thumbs)

those splitters on both of you's' cars look great.. i don't think i could put em on from what i'm experienced so far with my lip.

Yeah I bought the lower grill mesh from the dealer and made my own for the top grill. I think personally it gives it an oem look. LoLs I know about about the whole license plate reflection stuff, I couldn't get it out without seriously messing up the picture. Yeah the car is really really shinny, helps when I wash and wax her at least once a week, and never miss a week unless its the rainy season where I go 3-4 weeks without washing her.

Anyways thanks for the compliments guys, hopefully I can begin modifying my extra bumper soon and rid myself of the side markers. I sure hate them amber ones right now, time to go get some clear ones modded too.

Yea. I didn't think the AutoExe worked with the stock grill. Bleh...I guess I just misread or something.
you have to order a piece of mesh from the lower grill and cut it to fit. my car will look the same (except white) as soon as the captain comes back from colorado (rockon)

be careful cutting it jose... i snipped a piece too short and now i don't wanna use it. i just snipped it with tin snips for a clean cut, the dremel melted it too much.

I used my dremel to do all the cutting. Make sure to leave at least 1 inch around so if you mess up it won't be a total waste. After you've made it I just used 5lb gray 3M doublesided tape. Its been 9 months now since I made that mesh grill, and its holding strong.
