took some pics. the first one is of the painted heat shield with hitemp paint. it didn't hold up at the bottom of the shield. it turned all brown. gets really hot down there.

then i took the heat shield off and had a friend from the club powdercoat it. just put it on and took the pic, didn't even start the car yet. once i drive it for awhile, i'll let you guys know if its holding up. btw, check out the cool flying M on the dgm CF cover and the custom oil cap and battery tiedown from gujustud (btw, what ever happened to him? i know he was working on something else and he just disappeared?)

also, here is the dillema :) people post all the time asking what they should and what color should be that and this. and i am always like, its your car, figure it out yourself. i am in the same situation and i can't figure out myself

as you might know, i am doing the group buy on the silicone hoses. i want either red or yellow. i like yellow because its bright and it would be unique in a sense to have yellow hoses but on the other hand, red would go with all my red wire loom and strut bar. help?

george: ivan does powdercoating

SenorCorwin: local obviously means in the south florida area but more precisely in broward county. he said $20, but hasn't charged me yet, he said to see how it holds up first. in your case it'll probably be more. don't know.

sure, let me go snap up a few pics.
i had it now for maybe 150-200 miles now.

on the second pic, i showed the closeup area of the bottom of the shield where when i used hi temp yellow paint, it would completely turn brown.

what are you going to get powder coated? somebody told me radiator brackets but i am thinking that is going to be too much.
if anybody cares, should i go with yellow or red silicone hoses?

valve cover(black), batt tie down, hood prop, strut bar, turbo heat shield. all i think of right now.

red hose btw

thanks mazdaspeedchick.

why do you want to do the strutbar? its painted from the factory and doesn't get that hot.

hmm, mine has a few very small chips after hitting it with tools (dumbass, dumbass, dumbass) but it looks good. i might consider doing other things, we'll see.

hey senorcorwin why don't you come down to our meet this friday to show off the car. or better yet, we are having a bbq on sunday at 12pm at markham park in sunrise (595 and arvida), you are welcome to come over and hangout.

more details? how long you there till on sunday? fridays are generally reserved for being drunk. haha but im down for chillen. i work dispatch this sunday from 630-230 so if your gonna be there a while im dwon.

fridays we are there between 7 and 9/10pm. we never stay longer than 11pm.
and if you are drunk, don't come, lol. i hate people that drink and drive :)

but on sundays we meet at 12pm. i don't know when people are going to get tired and go home but figure we will stay till at least 5pm (taking pics, playing ball, whatever) and possibly some of us will go do something after that. that's what happened last time, by the time we all left the park we were hungry again.

we called a caterer so they are cooking the food. you only pay if you want to eat (beside the $1 park entrance). drinks will be bought with clubs fund so they are free to everybody. george should have any up to the minute information.

nice, i really like the zoom-zoom on the strut bar!! now all you need is an after market intake!! a red one!!!

Very nice looking....I say red on the wires, and also red Intake if you have the funds available.....it looks pretty freaking good man, the yellow heat shield makes it blend with the car, while the red adds a much wanted slight clash yet matching look, and the wires will complete that(especially if you get red intake)

thanks everybody and yeah, you guys are right about the header and the intake but neither of which i can afford. i actually bought the forza header off of somebody from the club and then sold it back to another member after realizing i had $50 left in my checking account (screwy)

still don't know about the hoses. red would match better with the whole look but i have never seen yellow hoses and i think they are really unique so that's what attracts me.
